According to Sam Wallace of the Independent via Twitter Spurs have accepted Stokes bid for Peter Crouch and we're trying to outbid them. If we were to get him I think he'll give us another option but he's not prolific in front of goal.
I've never fancied Crouch, but Tash posted some stats for him the other day, he had 11 assists last season for VDV. I could see him doing similar for Sess, and we could give them Gyan, for Crouch + 10 million, and buy Cisse.
Crouch played well for Spurs in the Champs League with VDV just off him and Bale and Lennon on the wings getting forward the thing is has Brucie ever set us up and do we have the midfielders to run beyond the strikers? I cannot see Spurs wanting Gyan now after signing Adebayor but if they do I would probably take Kranjcar and Crouch for him and spend money on Cisse like you suggest BB
1 goal in 4 is not pretty poolie. I love Gyan, but he doesn't seem to wanna be here, all the statements he used to come out with have stopped, as have the goals, as has the effort to a degree. I don't want him gone as such, but i can see scenarios where we would benefit overall from it, IF we used the money correctly, or swapped for the right men.
Would love to see Cisse in Sunderland shirt - has there been any indication that he wants to play for us? Still not convinced by Crouch though.
He didn't name clubs but said 'I hope i can move to England, or a big German club before the end of August'. Us, Fulham and Blackburn have been in for him, Schalke in Germany.
He played today, no goals but 2 assists in a 3-0 win. He's on 4 in 4 this season, and 3 assists. Impressive.
I truly believe this is what we are missing - if we can ge someone in to start scoring goals it will give the whole team a lift
Peter Crouch = top quality footballer IMO. About as close a footballer to Lord Niall himself and maybe a good foil for both Gyan and Sess. Do I think it will happen? Not a chance in hell. Bruce wont be given that sort of money. No way.
The problem that I see with this is that he isn't worth that much so we'd have to dig deep into whats left in the kitty. look at his performance today & the season to date.
GOOD, too cold for his tart up home, no Harvey Nicks, she would have to talk, to the common people, THE SALT OF THE EARTH, but not the smoke, where she could be admired, or something , he aint that good, else why would saggy fyace want to flog him on.
