Cross board threads are now a thing of the past (at least for the foreseeable future) due to software/server issues when trying to allow both boards mod control.

Any threads that were cross-board are now only on the originating board.

Maybe not such a bad thing in the long term either. <ok>

Cross board threads were usually used for inter-club chat prior to, or immediately after an upcoming fixture between any two clubs, and it usually worked well.

Apart from decent threads on other subjects common to two clubs like Taff's the other day, they are generally now used purely as wind ups. Even when an interesting article such as Taff's about the FAW proposals appears, it usually attracts a clown or two who feel the need to have a dig and the inevitable happens.

    I won't miss them.

    I'm with Sparkey <ok>
Apart from a few good match day threads they are/were more trouble than they're worth.

It's a shame as they could be very good if it wasn't for the clowns. Personally I wouldn't post another cross board thread with the Swans but may do so with other fans should we be in another final. The Liverpool cross board thread was generally well behaved.

Some good banter on that thread taff, in the build up and for a week or so after. A few more like that may draw a few of the old posters back. I won't hold my breath, too mant disruptive influences.

I'll join you on here on Sunday though, as with many a match day this season, if I survive 3 back to back rugby games with associated beers tomorrow.

    Good luck.

I was at the stables at 7 this morning with my daughter to ride her horse and do all the jobs. She's been for her music lesson, I've done the morning chores and have just sat down, ready for an early lunch.

    Beers at the ready!

    Nothing important.

I do enjoy watching a game I played for 25 years though!

Room in my heart for both Sparkey.

Never played the "other" game with any enthusiasm - it was rammed down our throats at school by prehistoric dinosaurs of sports masters.

If you ever even picked up a round ball and mentioned the beautiful game, you were generally mocked by the said dinosaurs for being a cissy. <doh>

Don't know if it's changed at schoolboy level now, but my early experiences of the 15 man game are all bad - and no, I'm not a cissy!!!........<laugh>

Always kicked a round ball as a kid, easier with a round ball if you are on your own or in a small group playing 'rebound' or 'coola', but being a valley boy the oval ball was in the blood.

It was when I started playing senior rugby I stopped going to Ninian Park. A big admission I know, but that's the fact of it. I used to play school boy rugby in the morning and watched city with my dad in the afternoon. At 17 I started playing senior rugby (never played for a youth team) which meant playing on a Saturday afternoon.

Too old for both now (and I'm only 48). Fly fishing is about as strenuous as it gets these days.

Have a word with JH. You need to take up Jack fishing - it's much easier. Bait costs nothing and you get bites all day...................<whistle><whistle>

    Sparkey

Your school experience sounds like mine.

I refused to go egg chasing, went on a cross country run, got back after 30 mins, dug out the football and played with a dozen like minded lads on the tennis courts for the 2nd half hour.

You didn't go to Newport High School too did you?

No Bluey - Bridgend Boys Grammar (as it was then).

Can remember going into the sports masters office/stores loads of times to get some gear for the PE periods. There were rugby balls by the dozen, cricket bats, pads, wickets and balls by the score, hockey sticks, athletics hurdles, javelins, discuss, shotputs et al - but never, NEVER once saw a football. <doh>

We used to take our own and stay behind after school for a great game between ourselves when the bloody dinosaurs had gone. <ok>

    Ogie! Ogie! Ogie!
I'm Hymns and Ariased out.It feels like I've spent the day at the liberty stadium.

    H or Swamp or both!

If cross board threads are no longer posted on both boards, can I kindly suggest we now scrap the pointless thread with the jax at the top of our board? It just seems irrelevant if it's no longer on their board.Beside this the jax infest every other article we post any way.Take a look at the top ten articles.

If others Bluebirds vote this suggestion down I'll happily accept the majority decision.

Gotta love it. ****ers like John Hughs pestered us for years in numerous guises and was actively encouraged by some on here (see above). Yet we 'infest' their board. <laugh>

In John Hughs stylie: 1-2-3 for Wales this weekend. Grand Slam, Swans win and....Newport in the FA Trophy Final.

Who cares about some nothing game tomorrow? Still think the Swans are a 'lucky' team ITIWRAN? <laugh>

Getting rid of the banter thread speaks volumes. If we were due for relegation and you in the autos you wouldn't be bleating like a girlie.
