If I am not mistaken they were originally put there to see if a ball crossed the goal line. But now they have goal line technology I don't see the need for them, as they don't seem to make any decisions on anything.

If you want to win the competition, you have to do it by beating what's in front of you. Side of the draw is irrelevant really. Competition winning teams will just keep on churning out wins. Given our inability to beat Russia or Slovakia - we are not a competition winning team. I'd say Wales probably have a better chance of winning the Euros than we do. More clinical, seem to have great team spirit and they look to be playing for the manager. We on the other hand have a dozy old pillock.
Not only do they not ever make a decision, but this has been the case for a few years now and we always point out that they don't do anything. I just can't understand what UEFA see in it. I think it's only their competitions that use the extra officials. Everyone mocks it because they obviously do nothing, why on earth do they persist with it?
