Love him or hate him, "Who's better Messi or Ronaldo" arguments. One thing that is undeniable, Ronaldos numbers are insane. 1,112 games,807 goals for club and country, 59 hatricks. Champions Leauge x5 Fifa club World Cup x4 Premier league x3 Leauge Cup x 2 Super Cup x3 La Liga x2 Copa Del Rey x2 Spanish Super Cup x2 Serie A x2 Italian Super Cup x1 FA Cup x1 Portuguese Cup x1 Ballon do'r x5 FIFA Official most goals scored ever. And he is still only 37. lol Like most young players that good, he was a knacker at times. Rooney wink, diving etc. As he matured he just got better and better. Could easily play top top level until he's 40. Time to add a German and French title. imo we'll never see players like Ronaldo and Messi again, each pushing the other to be the best. Off the field good friends, each of who's kids say their Dads rival are their favourite players. This isn't to say who's better, Ronaldo or Messi, imo that realistically can't be answered. Both different players with unbelievable talent.Just be privileged they gracefully played in our lifetimes.
Ronaldo 9/10 talent, 10/10 dedication Messi 10/10 talent, 9/10 dedication Pick your favourite, not a lot in it. I don't particularly like either of them but I prefer Messi because I think he's more of an honest player.
aye, but could they do it with a soggy wet casey and them old black boots when footballers were men eh eh eh???
Nah, first ever step over Ronaldo tried his career would have ended with a legal tackle 28 inches up from the ankle.
Nice way to look at it. Ronaldo has tested himself more. England,Spain and Italy. We'll never know what it would have been like if Messi had came over here, we can all guess though. Apparently Messi isn't really pulling up trees in Paris. Messi and Barcelona were something special, Ronaldo turns it on anywhere.
For me Ronaldo is slightly better only for the fact as has been mentioned he’s done it in different leagues
Both are among the handful of best ever players. We are lucky to have seen them both. Ronaldo the best of the two for me. He has played in lesser teams at times and dragged them to heights by forcing their standards higher. At one time, you never saw Ronaldo head the ball. Then, when he moved into the middle, he turned himself into the best header in the game. His work ethic is insane. How Rashford cannot learn from a player such as him tells us why he'll never make it at the very top, despite his ability. But both great players.
Yes, to watch I think you're right. Messi dribbling and running with the ball past defenders is mesmerising. But for overall value to a team I'd have Ronaldo. Would settle for either here mind!!
By virtue of disliking Barcelona I'm a Ronaldo fan, even though his eyebrows make me want to gag. Brilliant football player.
Ronaldo for me always. Unbelievable in every league across world football. Still ripping it up in the PL.
Agree with all of the above. As for Rashford he is doing some excellent stuff off the field. However on it, at 24,he already looks a shadow of the player he was and that's a mad thing to say. Just isn't the player he was a couple of years ago. That sentiment was mirrored by Southgate by him hardly getting a kick in the Euros, and when he did get a chance, quite frankly he blew it. But I digress. Any young footballer that isn't taking a chance to learn from the best player in the world would be mad.
He could stay at this level for about 2 or 3 years imo. I still think he has a chance to win the German and French leauges to complete the set.
Yep. A golden chance to learn and he doesn't seem to want to know. Not that impressed with his off field stuff myself. He probably earns over£100k a week. Maybe he is a player who does not use an expensive tax accountant to save some of the £50+k a week tax he'd be liable to. If he does, then he is asking the government to pay for what he wants doing. As governments do not have money, he is asking taxpayers, including those earning £13k a YEAR, to help find the cash. He should concentrate on being a footballer, as he is declining rapidly.
