A number of our "better" players didnt go? heard rumours back [ month or so ?] before they left... to do with family/ covid?
England did have a "high" a year or so ago with all sports at top of the tree... guess the branch's have started to wilt .... blame it on global warming !!!! HNY

Blame it on the unfit for purpose ECB and it's abandonment of the red ball game and this is the inevitable result of that decision.

Not only have England already lost the series but managed to lose the 5 match series in just 12 days of play FFS, it's absolutely pathetic, Australia have proved that you can be successful at both but need the support of your governing body.

Apart from what I see on the news from across the pond cricket doesn't hit the headlines here in Canada however even the antics of the national team seem about on a par with the annual promises made by a certain local football club. I was never a fan of cricket but it does seem that the game has changed since my departure in 1975 to such a point that it is barely recognizable in it's current form and if you forgive my sarcasm it appears that money interrupted the cerebral sport somewhere along the way.
