Right, so they've had most of the summer. But the England cricket team leave it until ONE DAY before the new domestic football season starts to hit their straps India, who won the toss and chose to bat, are in disarray at 66-6
to be fair, they started at The Rose Bowl and won the third test quite convincingly. This is a continuation but to have them 8-4 was extraordinary. When I was young (no comments please!) I remember watching England skittle them for something like 41 but they were really poor at that time.
Been watching it on a stream all day and I have to say that England's bowlers have been exceptional. A six for for Broad and we close the first day having bowled them out for 152 and we have close on 111/2. A superb day for our boys and I think we will now push on tomorrow for a 1st innings lead of 300+ I'm back home to blights on Sunday.
Closed on 113-3 as we lost Balance to a pretty much unplayable delivery http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/88640 . First session of the day is key. If India take two or three earlty wickets then we may well crumble like we normally doand it's anyone's game. Win the session and add 80 odd runs with no wickets lost, or just the one, then this creates a solid platform for us to build a nice 1st innings lead and dominate the match. Nice to see England doing well though. Bell looks in good nick with the bat. Broad and Anderson bowled superbly.
One advantage of this team (and I was hoping to see Finn play for either Woakes or Jordan) is how deep we bat. Broad will come in at 10 so our tail is pretty much just Anderson.
Do miss being able to watch all the action. Fox sports news has reports and a little of the highlights.
I agree we do 'bet deep'. But to be fair Broad's been poor with the bat of late. Whereas Anderson has done rather well, and batting with real confidence. Remember his 83 earlier this summer? He was playing a full repertoire of shots, including the Reverse Sweep which is not easy to do. The 'Burnley Lara' may still get his first Test ton yet. Love the banter between the ex-pro commentators too.
