Bravo...... Magnificent hitting.... a little over an hour to smash 113 runs..... astonishing..... who says that 1 day batting can't be part of Test cricket..... Brilliant when it works but bound to be days when it doesn't, but then let's remember when it does...... joyful....
Saw an amazing stat earlier re this Test....... NZ scored their 655 runs in 222 overs...... England scored their 656 runs in 121 overs....... 100 overs....... 600 balls difference in getting those respective totals...... just unreal......
**** the Test Championship, complete bollox in my eyes. How a 2 match series between the likes of India v Bangladesh can carry more points than the Ashes is a joke. Some countries will still pick flat dead wickets at home to play on and others like we have here will make for brilliant cricket . Each to their own obviously, it just seems almost impossible to conduct when England play so many more games than anyone else. It will be interesting to see the sort of wickets that will be on offer in Pakistan this winter, but I think its pretty safe to say we're probably gonna be playing 3 spinners or 2 and Root.
True, But aren't India controlling cricket nowadays? The Ashes were considered the pinnacle but with the rise of India and alike, we've probably been pushed aside.
Whole three days to wait until the next test. Nightmare. Will India try white ball bowling to our white ball batsmen?
Let's just say they have the ICC in their pocket ! India are a fabulous side but not even the ICC are stupid enough not to realise that the Ashes are the pinnacle of Test cricket, and in most people's eyes the pinnacle of all cricket. You can invent as many formats of the game as you like to please more people and attract more fans, which has happened, but nothing will ever compare to an Ashes series . It is cricket !
All in Pakustan, 7 T20 matches and 3 Test matches to be played in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. To say the atmosphere in those grounds will be white hot is the understatement of the century. If Stokes charges down the wicket to his 1st delivery and hoists the ball into the crowd they might need some tanks patrolling the boundary ropes lol
OK I see that Indian captain Rohit Sharma is a doubt after contracting Covid, that would be a result for us if he's missing. The rest of their squad looks at full strength.
Ireland took 221 off their bowlers in 20 overs yesterday. Sadly not quite enough to win the game, though.
****ing Pant again, he loves ending us. Jadeja dangerous aswell, the speed they score at they can take the game away from you as quickly as Bairstow and Stokes can. We need to get them both soon
Very poor from Stokes to continually be bowling all these no balls, no excuse for it after all this time. This partnership is starting to turn it around unfortunately
Stokes seems to have lost a yard of pace, bowling around 82mph and looking rather ordinary. Pant is a phenomenal batsman and this partnership has taken India out of trouble.
