Until 2017, according to the clubs twitter page. Hopefully this will stop the recent speculation and potentially shows that Evans will start to back McCarthy more in terms of money.
http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/cressy-signs-new-deal-1230137.aspx Boom! on the clubs website, hopefully it will be a put up or shut up to the clubs watching him. The club is going from strength to strength.
Hoorah...my stocking is bulging already! This is seriously good news and above all, will attract higher calibre players if and when ME loosens his purse strings, as surely he must in the New year if we are to push on......Any more goodies? One more forward and another attacking midfielder please Santa!
Good news, making sure we keep this bunch of players together is more important than bringing in new faces IMO we seem to have a good team spirit and a good atmosphere in and around the club which for me can be worth a fair few points over the season. That said we should sign SHunt up.....
Like many on here I'm unsure of Marcus' intentions sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy about the news and hope it's a real show of intent from ME to keep the squad together and not sell off our assets
Great news, he's our best player for us for many a year, he feels like a player pre ME era, from the lower leagues who appears to have shown a bit of loyalty to the club and has been easily our most consistent player for the past 3 seasons. I cannot believe how much we rely on a LB for goals, it's unbelievable how many goals he's been involved in this season.
Very happy Cresswell has signed his new deal! This move has a few indicators to me. 1- Potentially Mick will be backed in January. New deal will have been with a significant wage increase. I don't think Cresswell would have committed to the rest of this season if there wasn't likely to be 2 or 3 transfers incoming in January. 2- Surely will have a minimum fee release clause. If Cresswell carries on how he's currently playing, he will be the subject of a few bids in the summer. With the new contract signed however, we're under zero pressure to sell. Transfer fee will surely be upwards of 3.5 million now, especially with Tranmere due 20% of any profit. Any way we can pay Tranmere a fee, like Arsenal did with Southampton re Walcott to remove this clause?! Good news though for sure
it's great news. he's the sort we need to keep. our best player and hopefully is showing our intentions. will hopefully ward off potential suitors too. i also heard young jack has signed a 18 month extension. whether anyone can confirm that.
There is probably a bit of truth in the speculation that it is to increase his transfer fee, but then again why not? I would have thought some pretty airtight promises were made to him, plus an increase in wages so hopefully this is a good sign from him with the purse strings.
Hopefully not... "Aaron, if you sign this longer contract so we can get more money for you then you will be allowed to leave"
