We've slated them previously but today Hall and Hill played their hearts out, Young was his reliable self and Ferdinand was outstanding and my man of the match. Faurlin and Derry covered them ably and Chelsea despite possession didn't really have much other than Anelka's header. And before it's mentioned we were playing 9 men they were giving it a go as they had to and had quality throughout, a little more guile up front and it may have been a bigger winning margin. Top marks to the defence though...
Great day to be a Rs fans.Great battling performance by all 11. Be even better when we complete the double at Stamford Bridge later in the season.
i agree wholeheartedly before the game i'd looked at the team sheet and seen two defenders who i've previously derided as below-average championship players, when in reality they played as well as they could have hoped. it wasn't our best performance of the season but obviously the result is something special, and it's about time we had some decisions and some good fortune go our way after outperforming teams and being left with only draws and losses... despite what their fans might say, chelsea didnt have much sustenance and should be embarassed that they gave away so many bookings, and so many chances at a derby against a team that on paper they should have beaten easily.
