Just watched the detailed broadcast of our Wembley win, and a thing that seems to have been missed, understandably from our point of view, is Steve McLaren and his entire team staying on the pitch and applauding us as we celebrated and then went up to lift the trophy.

Steve McL is building amazing team spirit. This is what it is like to lose. Every credit to him and the Derby team for braving it out and I for one hope they do very well next season.

    A credit to football.

Mclaren made them stay there out there, otherwise the Derby team would've been back in the dressing room as quick as the proverbial. Just like we did in Cardiff.

Correct. He wanted to let the players feel the pain of seeing us lift the trophy, to make sure they didn't find themselves in the same position in the future.

Should make his teamtalks easy this season, just make them revisit those emotions and......viola!

I wonder how many times they'll hear 'Oh Bobby Zamora' on their travels this season...

Correct. Not to detract from the OP but the main motivation was for his team's benefit, not to applaud QPR. Hopefully a healthy mixture of both.

If we are stuck at the bottom of the table come Christmas. Harry starts thinking about which golf club he wants to join again i would love us to go get him. Or if harry has enough by next year and derby have not done that well.

Not only is it good PR, it is excellent psychology for team bonding and motivation. I sincerely hope that Derby go up this season.

I would be pleased if Steve Mclaren returned to the R's as manager. I have developed a great respect for him.

You could say that it's sad indictment of how we are today as a people that we must commend a team for showing some respect and courtesy towards their victors. Those that skulk miserably off are seldom criticised for their lack of sportsmanship these days. Yes, well done Derby for staying on the pitch for whatever reason, but we should expect that behaviour anyway.

Did I read somewhere that Thorne has done his ACL and is out for most of the season?

Yep. I doubt he will be seen for the season at all - probably only be risked if Derby have anything to play for come the last few games.
