With Adel banished where is the spark going to come from? Our highest priority is now to bring in a midfielder who can knit the team together and hurt the opposition, any suggestions?...

We need pace and inciviseness also. Townsend if we could sign him. Look at the impact Routledge had when he joined us in our promotion season. Our build up play is so slow and predictable.

i thought jenus could do the job. he was very steady last season steadily picking out passes and got a couple of cracking goals

Jenas is a decent Championship player but he's never gonna find those sort of incisive passes that Adel can pick. Adel remains totally infuriating but without his creativity, we are completely one dimensional.

Other than that, I've got absolutely no solution as I can't see us getting a player with similar talent in the near future.

We need creativity from the wings. Townsend please on one wing.

Agree he would be a great signing, if even only on a season loan. Sometimes though I felt he needed to play a little more off the left as his runs were often followed by a disappointing right-foot cross. More a criticism of the manager than the player, really.

Best we ask Queens as he has an excellent virtual reality helmet... It's a bucket with a hole in it

    We are well covered in many positions but seriously weak in several others. Going on the current squad, here's what I think we need;

    2 x CB (1 experienced CB & 1 young)

If we keep Diakite and or M'Bia we have enough cover at DCM. If either or both of these go then we need a midfield general.

Assuming Adel will go then we need a creative midfielder fast.

A left sided attacking midfielder. Young and pacey essential.

At least one forward if not two. Hooper would be a great start.

    Just my thoughts

Adel Taarabt is not a creative midfielder he is a one off talent who on the majority of times will step onto a football pitch at any level in the world and change it or attempt to influence it, again on the majority he does so ... allowing that asset to not be with our club is unforgivable. Harold is completely lost with our team and many fans are blind to see this. He is struggling and the players are lost and confused ... either trying too hard or looking like they are not. We lost yesterday and that hurts . NW at least got us firing from the off ... In Harold's mind he is grasping at straws with a few signings ... the excuses are ready i am sure but we are in trouble as i see it at the moment. why are we playing players he thinks are all useless ... remember he said it. We will now go through the same old bollocks of signings but i tell you now .. Messi could come tomorrow and look county league with QPR in two weeks ... such is the cancer that Redknapp has spread. Prove me wrong Harold what the **** are you doing to our club ... whatsmore when he goes we have McClaren waiting like a vulture ... the players will dissolve away as we head into another transformation period

I have to disagree with you on this, St.EofL.

Redknapp has to cure a deep-set malaise in the dressing room that was started by NW himself, appointing Adel as Captain and meeting his wage demands. NW then went on to buy Joey Barton, and he himself admitted he didn't really want him. Hughes compounded this by blowing whatever wage structure was left wide open, causing irreparable splits amongst 'team-mates'.

We still have far too many egos on far too much money who don't give a rat's arse who they're playing for. This will take a few seasons to overcome, at least.

I say give Harry full control. We will not see immediate improvements. But it will, eventually, get a lot better.

HR doesnt help himself by playing the wingers on the wrong wings so all they do is cut inside and lose the ball. How many chances do we create from crosses?

We need 2 CBs, 3 or 4 forwards, a winger and someone who can play in the hole.

I agree, the countless times Townsend got himself into a decent position then meekly tapped towards the area with his right foot was incredibly frustrating. Even had we given him twenty minutes on the left at the end of each game, I'm sure Townsend could have lain on a few more goals.

I quite tired of seeing the Saint's weighty praise of Adel, though. Yes I would keep him and I agree that HR doesn't know how to get the best from him, but it's just bollocks to claim he does it everytime he's steps on the pitch. Very boring.

It is a huge problem. We need a central midfield creative. Our players are OK, but as a team we are very ordinary without somebody who can create openings and use ability to carve defences apart for our other players to finish off the task. It's a tough slot to fill, but if we are going to develop a team for promotion it's a void we need to fill. Every good team has one, every great team has one that is surrounded with superior talent as well.
It's all a bit concerning, where things are going. No doubt there needs to be changes, but feels like we have Groundhog Day every pre-season - and it's getting tiring!!!

We should try and keep hold of Granero, in my opinion.

Get rid, he doesnt try to open a defence and instead just passes is to the nearest player, thats ok when you have world class players who can do it for Real, its not ok when your options are Jenas or SWP.

It would also help if we had wingers who could cross the ball. SWP and Hoilett are pony. We have Simpson and Traore who can cross, but both obviously play in the full back positions. SWP is clueless for sure.

SWP is ****, Hoilett is on the wrong wing, Townsend was also on the wrong wing, Mackie was the only winger we had on the correct side who wasnt total ****e.

Plus many of us have said move Traore to LW for years but the managers never do. At the moment Id start Holiett on the right and Traore on the left wing.

I have given up on Hoilett. Against Exeter him and SWP did swap sides throughout the game and were just as poor.

Had enough of both Hoilett and SWP I am afraid.

Either move Traore forwards, or get a LW in.

What would you think about playing 3 centre backs and pushing Traore and Simpson up field as wing backs?
