Crawley Town manager John Gregory has no injury or suspension worries as the League One side look to reach the third round for the fourth successive year.

Gregory, who led Aston Villa to the FA Cup final in 2000, has drawn his first two matches after being appointed earlier this month.

League Two Bristol Rovers are also without any fresh injury concerns.

Midfielder Seanan Clucas remains sidelined until the new year with a knee problem.

The two sides drew 0-0 in the initial tie last Saturday and the winners face a trip to Championship club Birmingham City in the third round.

VIEW FROM THE TRAINING GROUND
Crawley Town manager John Gregory told BBC Sussex:

"There's a great game in prospect. It is a big cup match for us.

"We're hoping we will have a big crowd and we are on TV in front of the nation.

"It's an opportunity to put ourselves on the map again like we did all those years ago at Old Trafford.

"I'm not giving it [a third round trip to Birmingham City] a great deal of thought as Bristol Rovers stand between us and them."

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward told BBC Radio Bristol:

"They're a strong side. They played Preston on Saturday and were 2-0 down before coming back.

"They've got fighting qualities in their team and I thought they were a good side when they came here [for the first game].

"It's a tough one for us, but we never shy away from a challenge.

"We've got a challenge in the Football League and now we've got one in the FA Cup."

I'm glad I didn't go.

Be surprised if this game gets to the end. The surface water on the pitch is beginning to cause problems

With the advantage of wind and rain at our backs, I fear we have lost our best chance to win this tie. On the bright side, we're still in the cup. :)

Manager on Saturday's FA Cup second round replay

After having a game postponed yesterday, John Ward and his team are now fully focussed on preparing for the FA Cup second round replay against Crawley on Saturday.

Despite more bad weather forecasted over the next few days, the manger will be preparing for the game in the normal way and will not let his team be distracted.

He said: “This is the time of year these things happen. We are preparing to play, we will train here and get ourselves across there for the game on Saturday, unless someone tells us differently.

“We have got 24 games left, including this cup tie, and the players are fit and well and they were disappointed the game was off on New Year’s Day, as they were ready to play.

“We will deal with whatever happens and get on with the next job. Today is preparation for an FA Cup tie, and we are looking forward to it.”

The manager has a fit squad to pick from, and could be boosted by the returns of Seanan Clucas and Danny Woodards towards the end of the month.

He said: “Everyone is fit and well and they will be looking for their names on the team sheet.

“We will have a reserve game next week, if there is no cup match, and one scheduled for a week after that.

“The first one will be a bit early for Seanan, and might be a bit early for Danny. But if they don’t make the game next midweek, it will be the one after, and we are looking at getting those guys back around the first team group by the end of January.”

And after two matches against each other in a short space of time, both teams will know what to expect from each other come 3pm on Saturday.

John said: “We have watched them play, they beat Leyton Orient, which was a fantastic result for them, and won their next home game 1-0, so John Gregory is obviously getting his ideas across.

“We have done our homework, and we now have to get out on the training pitch and put that to the players.

“They are a good side, and there are 30 plus positions between us in the league, so for us to still be in the tie after a couple of games is a really good testimony to us.

“They are a strong group of lads, and they had a couple of big sales, which have helped them to recruit.”
