I struggled to get used to this one, but much prefer it now. The 24/7 factor is the main advantage for me. 606 seems pretty basic now and full of aggression. Ggggrrrrrr

Yes I tried in vain to get on yesterday and also visited 606.
It was like watching a black and white telly(or blue and white!) or going back to your childhood house, where everything was smaller and not quite as magical as memory had informed.
I suppose a number of factors come into play;a feeling of 'last picture show' about the site, the haemorrage of posters below a critical mass, the loss of the contribution of articles and pictures by Northolt and Andrew(where do they get them? )and the many contributors here who formerly posted there.
And yet I still have good memories of that site especially during this last season with some great debates and banter.
Have they set a date yet for it's closure?

-twins: like your 'monochrome' tv and childhood house similies!

The 606ers were still speculating that it will be as soon as the play-offs are over... seems the beeb haven't bothered to tell them the date.

606ers also suggested this board was full of same old same old (meaning us and what we natter about). Shame really. I don't see it like that at all.

I agree Brixton with you about this site, but just as woodyhoopleson posted I struggled with it too. It seemed too brash loud and over coloured at first, but then that's really just the decor, and I enjoy that now.
Just like the difference between public sector and private sector!
Oops! Was I thinking out loud?

Yeah, me too at the beginning - all seemed a bit too much, but don't see it like that now.

As for the last two sentences, story of my life in one hit! Much prefer the latter. Your's too I take it?

I am a tiny island of private in a vast sea of public sector!
But I love them all dearly......

I am happy to use this site or any other but the key factor has to be critical mass and enough contributions rather than features of the site. Just glancing at 606 this morning there still appears to be more relevant stuff re QPR on there even though it is closing any day now. Sadly things seem to have been diluted across several alternatives.

What, public sector in north west Ireland? Donegal is it? Never been there but completely wrecked my romantic notions of mountains, pubs and an air of Clannad and mysticism about the place!!

Oh there is that too, but when the visitors leave those props are wheeled off into the wings and normal lack of service resumes!

Hi AAAAAGH, nice to hear from you again.

Agree features can seem a bit overwhelming but I just ignore what doesn't suit.

As for critical mass and Rs'-relevant contributions, I think we're doing what we can but would very much welcome greater input from more fans coming over... and more thread ideas to reply to.

Having said that we've certainly seen a good few new members appearing of late.

I've got used to this site now, & have to admit I use it a lot more than I did the BBC version.

It's a lot more relaxed as you don't have to be too careful what you say. Having my innocuous post about Marlon King pulled for example!

Did they have to take it down just to eject Andrew?

    I like not606 much better,

I can ****ing swear for starters, and if you don't like this you can turn my ****ing swearing off.

I unfortunatley i don't live anywhere near the ground, and none of my local friends support QPR so i get zero chance to discuss QPR with fellow QPR fans and supporters so this forum is great for me, the old 606 was not such a great place to discuss things, mostly poeple seemed to shoot down any opinions that even slightly differed to theirs in a really agrressive and juvenile manner, all that **** with ABITB, jesus it just went on and on.

Also many of the posts seemed to be by wanna be journo's trying to get their comment onto the main sports page WTF!

I don't miss it in the slightest, all that **** about Marlon King and my perfectly legal posts being deleted was the nail in the coffin for me anyway.

RIP 606, Not606 is the future for me.

I read much more than I posted, but this looks a much better set-up

I joined here back in January but there wasn't too much happening, but the last week or so has seen the original 606 pretty well dead on it's feet and it's livened up on here so I'm here to stay...

100% agree Cannock... it was pretty empty at first but it's increasingly becoming a real Rs community living all over the shop but with well recognisable characters coming through.
