I always think that a journalist who conducts an interview and then publishes it verbatim does so through fear of looking like a dick when it turns out to be ****e.

Q: OK, let’s kick-off with one of the questions of the week. It’s been revealed that you raised £24.4 million in much-needed funds by pre-selling tranches of Rangers season tickets for the next four seasons...

    "Closer to £20m"

So what is it then? £24.3m is closer to £20m than £24.4m.

Q: Right, £20m then. What have you done with the money? Where is it?

"We’ve got running costs somewhere in the region of £3.5m a month."

And you got £3.5m up front for Jelavic (plus a little bit more for freed wages.) Does that mean Rangers have only enough money to operate for one more month?

    Q. What if season tickets sales plummet? Do you fear a season ticket boycott?

    "No, why would there be?"

Well, lack of success on the pitch, the fact you've spent their money already meaning no new signings in the summer, more players leaving and being replaced with inferior players etc.

Q: Can you e-mail me the documents and kill some conspiracies?

"I see what you’re getting at and there might be some benefit in doing that. Let me think about it. I’ll give it some consideration."

<laugh> Wouldn't hold my breath if I were you Mr. English.

Q: There is also talk, on top of everything else, of £5m owed in VAT. Are you sitting on a Mount Everest of debt?

"There’s a lot of media hostility towards myself and Rangers. It irks me sometimes. The VAT thing is rubbish. I have regular dialogue with HMRC about a number of issues, in particular the Employment Benefit Trust case. All sorts of things. I talk to them often, I know exactly what they’re doing and what they’re thinking and there’s no issue on that front."

So why were the ex-Directors questioned about this by HMRC? Are they lying?

What's really annoying is that there was so much scope there for follow up questions but either Tom English didn't ask them or Whyte refused to answer and that wasn't referred to in the article.

Also, why didn't he ask him how he's going to fund Rangers for the next few years seeing as he's already spent the best part of three year's worth of season ticket money?

    questions he should have asked

why have you not paid the wee tax bill which has now risen from 2.8 million to 4.1 million?

why are you saying jelavic wanted to leave but jelavic and the pie man are saying he had no desire to go?

Can you avoid administration with or without losing the tax case?

Tom english is getting the succulent KFC.

No chance he'll muck that up.

I have been suckered in to reading the rainjurs meeja responses.....they are buying this. I am not surprised, yet amazed at the same time.
