Just picke this up on SSN Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws will continue to run the rule over several trialists as he searches for a new striker. Craig ***an is one of four forwards currently bidding to earn a contract at Glanford Park, along with veteran Deon Burton, Sam Winnall and Craig Beattie.
Hope he does well, always thought he was a worker, a bit like McLean but with an attitude, especially that game against Newcastle when he got his leg broken.
I thought up to that match ***an was surprisingly one of our top performers, remember the sh*t that caused on the old BBC 606 forum Danny Guthrie's attack/assault on Craig ***an was disgusting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C_YyMKzTXU But what a great away day out that was.
I totally agree. I was never a ***an fan, even when people ****ed over him prior the sale to Derby, but he started that Prem season like a house on fire. He looked really comfortable at that level and like he'd played it for years. Sadly for him he was never the same after that injury.
I always liked ***an. He always gave his all. He certainly performed better as a winger. Prior to his sale to Derby, he was on fire on the wing and as BCC mentioned, in the Premier League he shone too. His goal at Bolton away was one I'll never forget. That Guthrie tackle on him was disgusting, fully justified red card. He tackled him out of frustration and because he took it to the corner. Dirty cheating ****er.
If that tackle broke his leg, then he took it much better than I ever would. He actually jumps up and down, gets shoved backwards and puts all his weight on the leg. In fact he played on until the final whistle. Hardcore.
If I remember he actually broke it in two places, as BCC mentioned earlier he was never quite the same after that.
He is currently our 3rd highest scorer ever in the top flight, were we really that bad at scoring goals!?
***ans just been released from his trial with Scunny without a deal. Courtesy of RH! BBC Humberside Sport ‏@HumbersideSport 1m #S****horpe United have also taken Deon Burton & Sam Winnall on non contract terms but have released Craig ***an, Craig Beattie & Chris Hogg
Are you sure about this? Off the top of my head I'd say Geo, Hunt, Cousin, King, Bullard all scored more than him?
Geo 11 Hunt 6 King 5 ***an 5 Bullard 5 Cousin 4 Turner 4 Big Jan 3 Mendy 2 Zayatte 2 Folan 2 Nobody else scored more than 1.
