Meanwhile, Barmby is still keen to wrap up a deal with Arsenal for current loanee Vito Mannone, the City boss added - 'You've always got to keep on your toes. Vito is still a priority for us. He wants to play for us and he's come in and consistently done very well. Hopefully Arsenal will be forthcoming but that will depend on a fee. It will also depend on how much we've got to spend in the summer. I was told in the press conference when I first got the job there'd be money to spend so we'll see.' This was lifted off CityIndependent. Can't help thinking there is a veiled message here from Nick to the Allams. Can't help thinking spending in the summer will be too late, the chance will be gone. We're starting to look a jaded side unfortunately.
They might well be veiled messages to the Allams for the future as it too late to bring players in now anyway - it doesn't mean he doesn't respect them for what they've done for this Club though. As for being jaded, Sat Tues and nine games in the month of March is bound to take its toll - that said everyone else is having to play at least seven games this month anyway thus the odd results such as white sh*te shipping in seven at Bellend Road and Birmingham letting in four against the bottom side on Tues. Need to take a hard look at what's clearly not working, regroup and hope to find a solution.
