To be fair to Simmo, #5 doesn't count. JS was offside and Koren hit the ball at him. I'd forgotten the McLean one against Leeds.
I believe that with a full preseason behind him and the backing of Pearson; Simpson could very well play a big part next season. He has proven he is capable of scoring goals with QPR. Last year he was just lacking confidence which come through scoring goals, as shown when he scored his first two the next week he came out and scored two again.
I believe that Simpson will only score goals if we play against "Blind Institute' and he plays in carpet slippers!
His six goals in the league last season whilst low on confidence suggest that we have a number of ‘blind’ sides in the championship. So here’s hoping. The only thing I saw that let him down greatly last year was his first touch which I believe is a confidence thing. (I know I’m not of the same standard but I know from personal experience when low on confidence the first thing that goes is my first touch)
I don't believe he has a 'first touch' and I believe he went to the same "School for Strikers" as Jozy Altidore.
I think Simpson will have a better time of this season, at the latter part of the season he looked twice the player he did at the start and as long as he starts the season partnering Fryatt, I think he'll bag a fair few. I just wish I could say the same about Mclean.
as long as the midfield is strengthened with a bit of pace on the wings then i think all forwards we currently have will score more goals next season we didnt exactly create alot of chances for them last season
