The very first match shown on Channel4 all them moons ago was the trip of Dallas at Washington, i watched it and was hooked...!!! Although i can only just recall the game, i think Dallas robbed the Skins with a dodgy call form the line judge, id made my mind up to support The Redskins. Running Back John Riggins, wide rec Art Monk, defensive lineman Charles Manning and QB Joe Thiesman were the top players in that era, and they were a pretty tight team. They won Superbowl XV11 beating Miami, and went to the next Superbowl also, but lost to the Raiders, just. But the rivalry between Dallas and Washington was big then and still is. The problem being for Skins fans will be the fact that we dont have a great record against Dallas, and havnt now for a good 10 years. Dallas have won an amazing 20 of the last 27 games so its about time that the Skins turned around that record... Last year at Dallas in week 15 we lost 33-30, having been 27-7 down into the 3rd quarter, and could have snatched victory if we had kept our heads until a 39 yard fg won the game for Dallas. So we come to tonights game and with Washington going into this with a 2-0 record, and Dallas not exactly firing yet, it couldnt be a better time for the Skins to go to a 3-0 record, and leave the Cowboys on 1-2. The stats show that its going to favour Dallas as they have gained more yards on average so far, 431.0 v 393.5... More passing yards, 376.5 v 270.5. But the Skins do have a a better rushing game of 123.0 v 54.5. So we might expect the Skins to go to a running game with the occasional deep plays. I think its going to be a big night and i cant wait to see one of my favourite fixtures of the NFL season... Come on you Redskins...!!!
Yet again... Though we didnt concede a TD, we did lose to 6 FG's...!!! Onwards and upwards.... Again...
