Fair enough mate. My point of view is that this type of **** happens all the time in every town except this one gets noticed because it involves somebody from the military. Four lads against one will always have the same outcome. I haven't seen the story so can't comment on it, maybe he started it. This doesn't mean I condone it and I hope they all got lengthy sentences.

I think the ipswich fans are ashamed and embarrassed by this story. Hence their silence on the matter and their desire to brush it under the carpet.

Agree totally SD. I have seen this type of thing happen before. I can understand some of your board thinking it maybe a WUM post. Perhaps just a link to the story without that particular photo or the caption underneath it may have been a better move. Just an observation.

Don't know why this is on our board, but i will bite. Don't like what these scum has done but to paint all squaddies as angels ****s me off no end, how about the story about 4 squaddies kicking the **** out of my nephew and leaving him with a broken jaw in the middle of stowmarket, my nephews crime, going out with a girl 2 years previous who was now going out with one of them bastards. Feel sorry for this squaddie, but living in stowmarket i know how much unreported **** goes on the other way around , and its brushed under the carpet 'just because they serve this country' bullshit.
No, because as soon as something like that happens they close ranks to protect their own. Don't get me wrong, there are some good guys in the forces. But i could hand on heart tell you that the ratio of something like this the other way around is probably 10.1. That is why putting squaddies on a pedastal above of everybody else really ****s me of. I just think this whole thread is just a petty case of point scoring which to be frank is a pretty **** thing to do, i bet if this happened in hull for example, dave wouldn't have felt the urge to post on their board.
