This season so far has been reasonably exciting and I sort of have the view that as far as Hull City goes, if we gain promotion, this season could have been the best season to be one of the relegated sides.
Player wise, we have had the chance to reset the team, reduced wages and at the same time maintained moral by being contenders for promotion.
Supporter income has dropped, but it would have plummeted anyway.
No crowds and only iFollow means less outlay.
The sale of Bowen has funded this season as the staged payments were brought forward.
All in all, if we do get promoted, this season may just have been a good season to have dropped into a lower league.

Covid has helped McCann greatly, having no crowds in the stadium has helped McCann and the players by taking the fan pressure and expectation off their shoulders. You could imagine the ramaining fans turning on McCann following the Championship performances from last season. McCann doesn't want fans back until next season despite what he says at press conferences.

Where has he said that he doesn't want fans back? Personally I do not think that it is a thought that has entered his head, he isn't that type. The players have missed the crowds, everyone of them who has been asked has said it, they revel in a crowds support and this season would have been the same as any, lose and you are a twats, win and you are gods.
Unfortunately, I think your post is more about your perception of how you would feel in his position and from experience, that is not a good base to start from. He is a football coach and former player, we as fans cannot put ourselves into his situation.

Maybe the loyal fans who have remained, would have supported the team despite any reservations about tactics, surly interviews and non waving to fans?

In general , it's just the lightweight moany non-attending fans who create this 'hostile' atmosphere.

He didn't say MCann didn't want fans back. He said he thought McCann didn't want them back despite him saying he did.

Nothing changes with you does it.
Pc works posted “McCann doesn't want fans back until next season despite what he says at press conferences.”
He didn’t say “l think McCann...”

For ****s sake, you said he said something when he said something else about MCCann saying something when he said something else.

Anyone else for this merry go round

See you are just the same. He said McCann doesn't want fans back despite what he says at press conferences. That suggests to normal people that was obviously what he, PC works thinks but the despite shows he acknowledgeds that McCann has never actually said that. Whereas you asking where has he said that suggests you think PC Works has said that McCann has said that.
Try reading things properly and then you won't intimate people have said things that they haven't.

Thats how I read it - McCann says one thing but PC thinks he means the opposite.

You’re misreading it and I agree with PC, McCann will be grateful there’s been no fans in the ground for the past year.

But you have not been a coach or a player so you can't put yourself in his position. TOM said so.

I’m challenging the view that McCann gives any great thought to what supporters think, beyond any effect on the team on the pitch. He hasn’t shown any indication of it in the past.

This season has produced goals, some great home wins and we are top of the league.

McCann out is so last year.

I think if fans had been in the ground last season, he wouldn’t even be here this season.

The reason we are not run away leaders of the league is because players, coaches, and owners read all the negative posts on here and it upsets them. It's the fans fault.

I'd put my house on McCann being glad there have been no fans this season.

The actual reason we're not run away leaders is that the teams we play insist on not letting us beat them before we even play them, how very unsporting of them.

Well that and the fact that when we make 10-15 chances in a game we don’t score 10–15 goals. It really shows how clueless McCann is.

Yup absolutely clueless setting us up in a way that we create a bucket load of excellent and some almost clear cut chances per game. Any manager who knew what he was doing would be on the pitch scoring them themself..... How dare he expect professional footballers to actually do some of it!
