After disappointing result against Sunderland you would think there would be a lot of worried supporters. But Gills actually played well and if got goal they deserved when 3 -1 down we could have been talking about a draw or even win. So now we have Coventry coming on sat another ex prem team although a few years back now, still a big club at our level. If we create even half the chances and cut out the mistakes we should win this one. We have so much pace going forward with Hanlan and Charles Cook already looking like bargains. With List also looking bright and quick when he came on they will scare a lot of defences. We also have someone called Eaves upfront who has continued his fine form from last season.
2 defeats in a row but more postives.

Coventry have started the season poorly, they have only scored 2 goals in 4 games, they have only conceded 4 goals though which is better than us.
There are only 3 teams with a worse defensive record than us (3 teams in the relegation zone are better)
Our forwards are more than capable of scoring the goals we need to win, can our defence do their bit?

For me Coventry is a strange one, big club but one that has fallen on fortunes that initially financially crippled them (if my understanding is correct) and they just don't seem to have recovered from it. Never forget the days of them standing on the hill at Northampton.

Sunderland, like Blackburn, like Wigan and not forgetting Wolves, show the gulf between L1/Championship, whereas Coventry I'm looking around for explanations and don't know the answers. I thought they had a bigger following, but maybe having been down here for so long some supporters have dwindled away, however, with attendances in the last two games between 11k-13k still better supported that the Mighty Gills.

Head to head over the last decade we have nothing to fear from the Sky Blues, our home fortunes have seen 3 wins for the Gills, 1 draw and no defeats. Tie that in also with the visitors poor run this season, albeit only two points off us, funny old game!

We need to keep up that game and certainly take something from this as i really would hate to see heads drop after such a positive start.

Strangely, at the time of writing this, the prediction league has all 10 predictions showing a Gillingham win after 3 straight defeats.
A lot of the predictions show us scoring 3 goals or more, even though Coventry have a decent defensive record.
Against a low scoring team, only 1 person has predicted us keeping a clean sheet.
Our last game saw us have 16 shots, yet only manage 2 on target, makes it even more strange that people have predicted a large score.

Just shows that people believe in what SL is trying to do.

Still dont no how we only had 2 shots on target. We scored 1 goal keeper made 1 or 2 saves and we had 2 cleared off the line. R they not shots on target. Also hit post which IS classed as off target.
