Official now, they have entered liquidation.

A sad day for an old and well supported club.

Having said that for entirely selfish reasons I hope they play this season, take a -15 and then likely take one of the relegation spots. Reduces the chances of us being down next year!

In fact while I am at it.

Everyone moaning about Scally making money this year, and every year. Take a long hard look at Coventry, like Pompey both decent sized clubs, decent support, silly business decisions and the fans are the ones who take the heartbreak.

Scally making money for the club, be it from expensive food or a pittance of £5 to swap names on a ST is what keeps us in business and keeps the wheels spinning.

Some people need to calm down and realise we support a business.

Shame for their supporters. How come Portsmouth can keep going?

You're right - I heard that the cost of living in Dubai is shockingly high.

    Oh give it a rest.

The man lives in Dubai, great, who the hell cares. If our chairman lived in London or go knows what city in the UK the prices would probably be the same.

Rich people live in expensive places. Is this meant to be shocking?

He keeps us alive and in the black, he can live on a space station for all I care.

I too have sympathy for the supporters of clubs like Coventry. These supporters are not responsible for the demise of such clubs. There are probably a number of reasons, which vary from club to club. The bottom line is that each club has been living beyond its' means. A part of this is probably due to paying ridiculous wages to average footballers. ( I can understand a player trying to get the best deal possible .) Portsmouth were in the Premiership only a couple of seasons ago - with all the revenue those clubs receive ( including £millions in parachute payments ) - what the hell happened to all the money ? - it is easy to suspect that it was wasted - maybe to pay for what can only be described as greed that was allowed to ruin the clubs.... the same greed that football ( in general ) expects ALL fans to pay for in as many formats as possible.
throwoff I am happy to reward enterprise - but the rewards needs to be in proportion to the relative success, and if I feel that a person or organisation is taking liberties ( with you as well as me ) - I will not 'give it a rest'. I am happy to be pathetic - but not apathetic.
