Well at least they can continue. When I wrote the thread title, only the first paragraph in bold was displayed with "more to follow". A minimum 15 point penalty and goodness knows what ever other embargos will be put in place must make them a relegation candidate. If they can't sort out some-thing with the Rioch and play to tiny crowds at Northampton, you have to ask if they can survive.
Yes i feel sorry for them, another club that has been ruined by greedy 'investors' that shouldn't be in football in the first place! But i was at the Ricoh a couple of seasons ago when we were in big trouble, and their fans took delight in singing 'pay up pompey' amongst other things and waving their money at us. Like i said i feel sorry for them, but what goes around comes around maybe??
Are the crowds at northampton going to be any worse than the 6k that have bothered the last few years at the Ricoh? I lost a lot of time for cov after a group of their fans abused us for going bust and came to fratton singing the "garden shed" song. At least we own out shed!!!
They've sold around 300 season tickets so far. It's hard to understand why a Hedge Fund would be interested in taking on a football club. Yes there are riches to be had in football, but only if you're one of the top 4-6 clubs and playing in Europe. Apart from them clubs just seem to be deep dark money pits. And as Pompey_Ant points out - they don't even have a stadium of their own.
Just saying else where that there seems to be more and more teams being pulled away from the ownership of their stadiums. It's leaves them open to abuse. Especially if the stadium is far bigger than their current needs like the Ricoh.
This is an interesting read - Greg Clarke talks quite a lot about Portsmouth as well. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ns-as-Coventry-City-are-docked-10-points.html
