Good to have a home draw, thanks to Ledley Did anyone else see when Muamba picked out his first ball which clearly said 36 on it and announced "33". Very close to making them start over again
25 years since that extra time goal that broke hearts but not minds. The 'Sky Blues' perminently in the FA First Div, when I was a lad and I don't know exactly why but I always had a soft spot for them, back in the day, before that goal....obviously. However, Coventry were always in the football news with innovated ideals or something revolutionary for their club and fans which led to Jimmy Hill and Gorden appearently being 'sent to Coventry' by the FA on numerous occasions. Also those anybody remember the hillarious 'Donkey Kick' perpetrated by Willie Carr and finished by one Ernie Hunt., that must be some 35years ago now. The FA placed a ban on subsequent free kicks of that sort. Claiming it to be a double kick.
Yes, but he grew up in Cambridge which is where we shared the same school. I remember he would run to school everyday with a tennis ball at his feet and would spend the lunchbreak kicking it against a brick wall to improve his touch and ball skills. I remember Coventry spotted him playing for Cambridge schoolboys team and took both him and another lad up there. The other lad never made it but of course Carr went on to have a good career in football.

Come on then Siggy and Bale. Lets see you get practising this during playtime and bring it back. Would love to see the reaction of opposition players if that kind of goal was scored these days. They'd be all over the ref, whining and complaining.
Sutton United beat them in '89,Covenrty were 3rd in the old first div at the time. That was the last time a non league team knocked a first div team out of the cup,we should have to much for them at home, even thought under new boss Mark Robin's they have had a bit of a revival
I remember that very well. I think Sutton then got stuffed in the next round at Norwich. Wasn't there a tragedy associated with that game ?? Seem to recall a Sutton player got killed on the way home or something.
WE wre stuffed 8-0,the tragedy was a Sutton players wife was critcally injured in a car crash, she survived thankfully, but Micky Stevens the player stopped playing to care for her.He is now Head scout at Sutton
Which reminds me of this:
"From the master of the unpredictable" is right. Am amazing bit of showmanship. I like to be entertained, but thats overboard.
