A very special player, I'm very glad he's ours Also, can't believe we got him for 8.5m. We've always been mugs in the transfer market but him and Sturridge for 20m was a masterstroke. 20 Years old
BR bought badly before getting chance to assess the squad. These are the only two signed after having the time to assess properly. Bodes well for me but still hope we don't go for a certain CB from Wales!
He keeps impressing me. Surprisingly strong, shrugs off alot of challenges and stays on his feet well. Such a classy player with so much talent and potential. Looked especially good without Suarez imo...took more of the responsibility on himself to be the creator.
I made this point in the match day thread earlier. His 2 signing when he's had the chance to look at the squad and see what was needed have been top notch and value for money. 2 young hungry players with a point to prove maybe. Coutinho can be that playmaker we've missed all season next year. He started well although tended to fade but after getting match fit and more used to the league he's performed well to the end more often. There will be days when he goes missing but you have to accept that with his type of players. Overall, at the moment a steal at £8.5mil and just have to hope he carries it on next year
The way he just shrugged off Debuchy must have annoyed him and led to his rash challenge for his second yellow.
InBiscanWeTrust... Been saying it for months pal, I think the squad standard/quality was better than BR thought. He bought four players in that he thought would improve the team immediately, they still improve the squad depth though. Two more like DS and Ford in the summer would be fantastic. (we need more than two signings though)
Agreed, think he panicked when he first came in and went for 2 players he knew and trusted and it's not quite worked although I do still hold high hope for Allen & Borini, need more than a season (or half a season in Borini's case) before we can write them off. Just have to hope we get 2/3 more that have the same impact as Sturridge & Coutinho in the summer and no doubt we can challenge for 4th.
That, and the fact they were down 5-0. Debuchey must be annoyed to sign for a club that, at the moment, look like they just hope the other teams in relegation zone lose. They don't look to want to play to hard, and that is disappointing, considering NUFC is one of the teams I really like to watch.
He will be a phenomenal player. Anyone think that Suso, Sturridge, Coutinho, Sterling and Suarez has the potential to be one of the best attacking lineups in the country in a few years time?
I'm not at all surprised by the level of quality he is showing as the signs were there at Inter, but I am amazed at how well he's coping with the physical aspect of the PL. I have high hopes for him. BR seems to have such a clear idea on the type of attacking players he wants that it's easy for us, as fans, to look at emerging prospects at other clubs and think "That would be a Brendan Rodgers type signing"
I think we should sign evra, williams and ivanovic... if these guys see the "real" luis as our lot keep saying i think they'll be a great success
1 out of 3? To be fair Ivanovic has been great through all of this. Professional, dignified and forgiving.
