The deal is finally done. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/football-news/article/2609527 - subject to the receipt of an international transfer certificate
You know much about this kind of thing Dev? Surely they cannot just tear up a contract, admin or not?
Nobody will be 'sacked'. Administrators will obviously need to check finances and ensure they are able to continue to trade for say next game in footballing terms - cost of staff, travel etc weighed against income from gates, food etc etc. They will then work out if they believe the club is able to continue to trade long term ie if there are no debts would the club be able to operate without a loss..........if no, how much loss will they incur. Whilst this is ongoing all staff will be notified there jobs are at risk until the picture is clearer. Once they know what the losses amount to they will seek to raise funds by selling assets and reducing expenditure. In terms of players I would be very surprised if a McShagger or Davis was to go. The administrators are there to act on behalf of the creditors & whilst it would be easier to sell a player like this you would obviously not get anywhere near market value for these guys. Those surplus to requirements will be given a redundancy package of some kind depending on the finances, contracts etc etc. If the club can survive trading & keep players like this the creditors could get more money back in the long run. Thats why it was important for Whyte to choose the administrators, he knows the company & hopes they will knock back bids of say £1m for these players and hope to atleast generate interest in the players so a bidding war takes place to up the value & get more money. If Whytes administrators do what he wants it is more likely those players out of contract will be the first out the door and if you pay any wages towards Bartley he will go as he is not an asset -similar to a temp or contractor in that he will not be liable for any redundancy package. Same with the youth players and more than likely the staff who work with the youth, no point paying staff who have nobody to manage!! Either way in my mind you will be very lucky to get a CVA out of this if the figures reported are correct.....and if you do get over it Whyte will not be leading the club. There is no way he will be approved to buy it out with everything that has come out about him. I expect another ban from directorship for him.
