The judge found Bassini incredible as a witness, and chose not to believe his version of events. What a pity we did not call him as a witness in the LNOC case--surely he would have won us the case by his performance under cross-examination. But in a case marked by double dealing, falling out and allegations/counter-allegations, who is to say that some of his claims are not true? Like the Russos are "secret owners" of half the club? It seems to be established that they brought the club to the attention of the Pozzos. Are they still involved in any way? I had hoped that we had seen the back of them. Will they benefit if we get promotion? They will never get any money back from Bas. They seem determined types who will not easily be beaten. Do they still have hopes of getting a pot of gold from Watford F.C.?
