Why is it only 1 country, when it's name is foreshortened that causes problems? ie: thats racist calling them that. So let's look at some countries around the world that end in stan Afghanistan It was actually a bloke who started dog breeding in that country, & thats why the world will accept the word Afghan Uzbhekistan Just ask the families that live in that country if they are offended? It wasn't racist until fairly recently because you will remember that Only Fools and Horses used to refer to corner shops as Paki shops because they were typically run by people from Pakistan. Can you imagine the number of complaints if a TV show did that today?

Paki isn't racist if you're calling a Pakistani one. It is if ya calling an Indian a paki. That's the problem these days, dumb people use the word paki for nearly every sub continent person hence making it racist.
I wish we could go back to those days when you could say what you want and it was just laughed off and no one took offence.
