Looking better already innit? Just one signing and a couple or three closing specs and all of a sudden we've got a bit of prem potential...

This is my version of how it could pan out on a good day. On a bad day the sick bay would be pretty busy (Hall, Bullard, Dyer etc.)!

    Kenny

    Orr, Gorkss, Hill, Naughton

    Derry, Faulin

    Mackie, Bullard, Taarabt

    Bothroyd

Subs: Cerny, Ramage, Hall, Dyer, Smith, Campbell

Options: ****tu, Connolly, Buzsaki, Moen, Alberti, Helgusson, Agyemang, Hulse, Hewitt, Cook, Pellicori

I'm sure I've missed one or two out and you'll each have your own models - but imagine this with perhaps Upson and one other added...

Looks a little better but that defence really worries.

So alongside Naughton would like to see another first choice full-back as don't see either Hill or Orr being more then squadies to play around 15-20 matches + also a centre back who any one of Gorks, Connelly, Ramage, ****tu, Hall could be partnered with as suspect any combo of existing CB's is likely to get caught ought too oftem in the Prem.

Think Orr will be shown up in the Prem, Brix, but otherwise looks promising...if Tarbs stays

Agree but good to know we've got a quality striker at long last.

Its the lack of pace in the back 4 that bothers me. Pace can make a poor defender look good, lack of pace can make a good defender look bad. I think our current back four are fine with the ball being played in front of them , but if turned or run at then they will struggle.

Naughtion would be a great addition as would bassong ( we were linked earlier in the season ). Also i see the lad Clyne is being touted by newcastle for 2 mill , surely that could work.

I would put Damage at center half ahead of Hill, played there before with Newcastle in the Prem!

I can't see why DJ can't change his name to Sol and play in defence, or is that too easy?

Warnock won't sign Campbell to sit him on the bench......he's a a tried-and-tested goalscorer at Premiership level.

I think that side is missing a quality CB and RB....I'd also have Smith ahead of Mackie. He was quality towards the end of the season.

Agree with both these. I'm a big fan of Tommy Smith. Mackie will be brought back in gently, not rushed straight back.

Definitely need pacey, full back cover. As experienced as Hill is, he'll skinned against the top half clubs. If we get Bullard great but we also need one more strong holding player. If Derry gets injured / suspended, what realistic cover have we got?

We're getting there and Neil knows what we need.

Campbell will be a key signing for us, 13 goals for Blackpool last season, so proven at the top level. Think we need this one to come off.

Then Sir Neil can start on the defence!
