I've been waiting for this moment to come, so that I can put to the sword those that continue to Idealise the counterfeit one, Brendan Rodgers. I never had any doubt regarding the fact that we could have got a result last night, but to do it in the style and manner we did is surely evidence enough, that we have now moved to a new level, with our counter attacking football, surely it's time for all Jacks to wake up and smell the coffee. Laudrup is the real deal, and that was evidenced last night, what I would have given, to have been on the team coach returning home to Swansea. So to conclude I will quote one Liverpool supporter, who for me sums up the situation well regarding our previous manager: "Nothing has more clearly illustrated what Rodgers is all about than the recent TV series on the club. Rodgers desperately tries to project himself as a Guardiola type figure by spouting profound sounding diatribes which, on analysis, are nothing more than trite, cliched, meaningless sound-bites. He forgets that Guardiola is a genuinely deeply intelligent guy where as Rodgers clearly isn't. Rodgers clings to his vision of play Barcelona style 'tikka takka' football and fails to realise that his version is a very poor imitation of the real thing in the same way that John Culshaw's take off of Dr Who is! This ain't going to work in a million years!" - Lobby It's from here we now move on, to support the rise of Laudrup's Swansea City, the man is light years ahead of Rodgers, and the Ghost of Rodgers has indeed been fully exorcised!
I still think Rodgers will do well at Liverpool, but also agree that we are now at a new level with ML. And we are much better off having ML in charge now, especially with the new players he's brought in. And we aren't missing Allen at all, as I think you suggested we would. So plenty to celebrate at the moment. Just hope we don't come unstuck on Saturday.
I agree. ML is doing a good job so far. I never doubted his tactics and football brain(who could?)but the fact that he got us through the teams first "crisis" with him on board coming out of it stronger, better and more gelled shows me he's the real deal. It's looking good and hopefully we'll have at least three more points after the Saints match.
My view on Rodgers is that he was obviously living on Martinez' legacy here with us, and that will become more evident as the season progresses, wouldn't trade Laudrup for him in a million years, wonder how the Kop is seeing him now!..................
In response to the Liverpool supporter's comments, didn't Guardiola himself say that Laudrup taught him everything he knows about football? I think that says all we need to know about our manager
Nice article Dragon I do think that Brendens reputation has been damaged by the Liverpool TV show, and i beleive he has an up hill struggle to gain credibility after his cringeworthy performances and david brent like management speak. The fact we gave them a stuffing just adds to the Kop's uncertainty about him as well. All in all not a very rosy up at Anfield. Laudrup has alot more tactical nouse than Brenden and he has conducted himself with total class so far, he says what needs to be said and doesnt blow bollocks at people for no reason, strange how the Liverpool poster you qouted thinks Brenda is trying to emulate pep at Barca, us Jacks of course know that that Pep idolised ...Micheal Laudrup !! its only 20% into the season but the signs are very good, its down to ML signings that has given us a fighting chance of staying up this season, that and the re-invention of Wayne routledge. Somebody pointed out on another forum that "Brendens team" starting 11 only actually consisted of one player signed by him at the swans and that was a not very good goal keeper!! It kind of puts into perspective the tremendous work Micheal Laudrup is doing and his name alone is going to make the club a fortune in buying ,improving and selling on players. Michu looks like a £20m pound player,he does it all! chico is finding his feet and starting to get used to prem level,a centre half who always looks dangerous at corners is something we have missed for years! KI looks like he has always played for the swans but is streets ahead of Joe allen in ability! but cost just £5m quid , pablo has incredible vision for a pass and is starting to look like he could be our answer to Mata of chelsea....the list of positives goes on and on and its all thanks to Laudrup for having a good eye for a player and the player wanting to play for him and nobody else!! Im just very happy for Laudrup, i was told they are desperate to make it work at swansea and they see it as a fantastic chance to show what they can do when given a free hand to create their own squad, so far nearly every signing looks like a Bargin with untold residual value attached to any sale we are in a strong position and getting stronger
Man that used to get on my nerves, and it seems the Kop are not liking it either. Excellent post by the way Norway, and how I see it too!.................. I've heard that too, and that's why I was furious with the old guard, for going to Huw Jenkins, but he didn't half sort the ring leaders out! Laudrup is pure class, and I'm pleased that our board have given him an unfettered hand in getting our Squad to the next level, something that had to be done, if we are to stay at this level, and something the old guard should have realised, seems they needed reminding of their limitations.................
Cheers Dilli, and you too Fsdon, we will get our upsets, but we will grow this season under Laudrup!.........
Dai is very quiet. You just know that if we'd have lost he would be all over it saying how fantastic Sir Brendan is and that Laudrup is clueless FACT He does love us to fail to prove a point, just like when Rogers first took over and he didn't think it was an ambitious enough appointment so wanted us to lose in pre season against Hereford
What a complete kn*b and wum this saddo is, I wish he'd leave and go to the pool board, he won't reply to you about wanting to lose to Hereford SA9 , he's got a big gob and selective memory,
Of course he won't. He only replies when it suits him. He hasn't replied on the other thread either where he argued the toss with me for days, then made a point which agreed with what I'd originally said When he used to slate Huw Jenkins all the time on the old 606 I had a theory that he actually was Huw Jenkins, posting a load of tripe on here, then sitting back with a large one and a pamama soaking up all the praise we give him in defending what's been said. Now I just think he's a bit insane
Top post Phil. Didn't see the highlights of game as the Internet was down so not a happy chappy not being able to watch the game. Did wait up for the league cup show and that was poor coverage. I do think ML has more to offer Swansea City than Brendan Rodgers. His tactical brain is second to none, he should I know, as he was one of the games great players. If we can achieve half of what ML success on the pitch then were in for some fantastic times. Boy is great to have a manager like ML.
