2nd from last game of the season, Wycombe vs Rovers. There is a pretty good chance that the winner in our game could send the losing team down!!

If we aren't already down Jack. It started to look good but now it looks very bleak for us. Exeter looked the team to drop into the relegation zone but they have pulled 6 points out of the bag against top opposition and now look on their way to safety. We need a couple of wins very soon, but it doesn't look likely.

the player for exeter who has won them 6 points from the last 2 games is eliot richards. the rovers player who scored 2 crackers against you in our game that we were winning 3-1 which got abandoned at your place. we let him out on loan to exeter in january in a swap deal for alan gow. straight away gow got injured and is out for the remaining of the season and richards has scored 4 or 5 for exeter and got the winning goals in the last 2 games for them. pretty gutted.

Can't you pull him back in? He could get us relegated, if he hasn't already.

At the moment I think it is more likely to be Pompey that goes down

I hate to say it, but I think it will be us and Turkey that go down this season, unless Ward can get in some pretty damn awesome players within the next hour or so :(

I think we are all as pessimistic as each other. Not surprising when you look at what's happening around us. Some teams that were looking in trouble have climbed to safety, leaving us in the mire.

We won't win another game this season under Ainsworth so we need to do what Portsmouth did and sack the manager. The football under him is painful to watch with blatent time-wasting just like Stevenage are famous for and i will not travel to watch Wycombe until he goes and i doubt mant opposition fans will be sorry to see us relegated with the crap tactics we use,it's not as if it does us any favours as we still can't win a bloody game!

ward aint a **** manager though. when he took over last season around xmas, his form from game 1 to end of the season was automatic promotion form. only 2 teams won more points than rovers in that period. what went wrong was a lot of injuried during pre season and all were 9 months long. due to the wage budget rule we were unable to sign new players until we got rid of players but we couldnt get rid as we couldnt even get 7 on our subs bench. we had to wait for some injured players to return to then get rid of the deadwood so we can then get in players. half the season was already gone by the time ward could bring in players. cant blame ward for the injuries and wage budget rule. ward could only use tactics and formations to suit the players he had available. unfortunately some players aint good enough.

i feel sorry for ward to be honest. i do think its a good move to keep him at the club as DoF but im shocked we have went for a very inexperienced manager to try and get us out of this trouble. he hasnt managed at all in the football league. he has managed salisbury in the lower leagues of non league and won a few promotions but not managed in the conference or football league. his 1st massive job and he has 8 games to save us from relegation. massive gamble this is.

Well said CJS its not all about changing the manager, Ainsworth has had problems with long term injury's Dunne, JPP, and quite a few others who have been out for 3 months or so and several nursing hamstring problems also a player we cant play as it will trigger a new improved contract and he won't leave so he just collects his wages for nothing one of Waddocks signings, we are a club with a very tight budget not helped by falling attendances there are only 3k loyal Chairboys now and like me not all of them can get to every home game. With just 6 games to play after today it would be very foolish to sack Ainsworth now unless you had a replacement ready to move in with a great plan of how to get more out of some of our more inconsistent players we are not shipping in goals just not scoring and goal scorers do not grow on trees so we have a lot in common with Rovers albeit with a smaller fan base so smaller budget no mater what happens today we still need to get to 50pts 49 may be enough as I can't see the Cobblers getting more than that and Torquay are nearly gone so 2 wins and 2 draws should be enough with a better goal difference at least I hope so

For the people on here who want Ainsworth as manager, will you still want him when we struggle in the conference next season? Plus crowds will be down and less revenue coming in so we could be in a financial mess and god knows what will happen if we keep losing money! <grr>

I'm getting more enjoyment watching my 8yo grandson. Last week, while I was in England he scored 6 goals, 3 left footed and 3 right footed. Went to watch today and was well impressed. I've been giving him additional training, quick passing along the ground, shooting first time from a pass and from dead ball with a very small cottage window 10 feet off the ground as the target. Everything is a competition against each other taking it in turns with right and left feet. Also I've taught him how to leave a defender standing and also to get past players with a quick one two. I'm loving his effort too. No nonsense tackling, tireless defending and running with the ball. Scored loads today. One match, with him breaking down the left and another similar player breaking down the right the opposition didn't know what hit them. Both taking on defenders and cutting in and either shooting or laying off for the other. Grandson scored 5 and the other striker 3 for an 8-0 win.

I'm enjoying this. They enter a league proper next season. Keeps my spirits up while Wycombe are doing their best to dampen them.

I would be happy to oblige Ron if that were the situation. We are not out of the mire though, only six points and that will be caught up in no time if we do not build on this.
