It's maybe that I'm over 60 years old,and in a different age than our current crop of players and fans, but I cannot condone what Suartez did today. If that was a Sunderland player,I would have still been disgusted! For me,cheats have no place in football..be it drugs or downright cheating like Suarez got away with today. He should get banned for cheating.

    Totally agree with you.

I found myself having to explain to my 5 year old daughter how cheating/breaking the rules, is wrong even if you do score

    Diving, handling, racism, bad sportsmanship....

He's a serial offender, that's the point. It's not just the odd bit here and there.

If it meant we won the FA Cup yes.

You get **** all in this life for being the honest Joe all the time. Would I want it to be won this way? Of course not but after 40 years of **** all to celebrate not a problem.

No and Cest' I disagree, had we won the cup with a blatant hand ball and it would always be thrown back at you. Win it fair and square and nobody can do anything but begrudge you.

Agree with Tony, any victory achieved through cheating, diving poor sportsmanship etc would always be tarnished. Would rather be the honest righteous guy who wins **** all.

I think he is a little twat. But if he were our little twat I'd be ok with it. I'd still despise the ugly side of his game but the reality is he is a top footballer. We have Jonas who is prone to the odd fall, Bellamy was an an absolute arsehole, I've watched dirty players, divers, the lot. I prefer the honest, less filthy players more but it takes all sorts.

This the modern game unfortunately. Each era has its characters to be ashamed of. Suarez is certainly no worse than the leg breaking cheats of the 70's.

The 1970's had some of the worst offenders of cheating too. Franny Lee anyone?

The crack is Tom Daley watches old videos of Lee to learn new diving techniques?

PS - Gatesy was a canny gan down easy merchant too? Lol

Henry's handball got France to the world cup to the disgust of the footballing world. Hopefully Liverpool will suffer the same fate as them.

I always remember Di Canio refusing to score an open goal that would've been allowed cause an opposition player was down injured.

Suarez is the worst cheat I've ever seen on a footy pitch

Erm I have to disagree, he kicked the ball in the net thinking the ref would of blown, but he never. We are all taught to play to the whistle. If anyone of our players done it you would expect them to score. And worry later. If you were on a football pitch and the ball caught your hand but you scored straight after would you go to the ref to say don't give that goal ref? Gary Neville summed it up right here, it's not about this incident but its about winning and giving your team the edge

Watched it a couple of times on the telly and as joe says Suarez sort of just kicked it in the net thinking he wouldn't get away with something as blatant as that. Suarez is a diving get even most Scousers will agree to that but, if he was our player would we be whinging about it not sure we would.
Why aren't we having a go at the officials for not picking it up ref and linesman? not sure what sort of view they had of the incident mind. Another question though is if this was the other way around would it have stood? I don't think it would have as refs, officials etc. always favour the PL clubs and probably more so the so called top clubs.
Got to admit that if this was in our favour I wouldn't be too concerned, yes it is a kick in the teeth for Mansfield as a replay at Anfield would have given them a nice pay day and, possibly another round to play in. To be honest here Suarez won't give a flying rats arse what most people think of him especially fans from other teams.
Cheats prosper lads we all know that, I can think of loads against us over the last thirty or so years and no doubt all teams can point to incidents against them it happens, it's not right but it happens.

Larsson was rightly vilified by us all on here after the Wolves game last season - Slated left right and centre for his dive so that probably answers your questions!!

I detest Suarez - more than I have ever hated any player (yes, including the princess of power) and he is probably the only player I would wish serioous injury on and I don't feel guilty for saying that at all

If this was a league game and the difference between 3rd and 4th position then the player would probably not be vilified - it was a cup game against a non-league side and, without the handball, they would have had a replay at Anfield - the stuff of dreams.

The way Suarez gave the lad his shirt at the end as well and wouldn't take his back - he's a **** - nothing less
