    with our current strikers?

Personally I think it is a big ask but if Larsson, Gardener & McClean can weigh in with a 8,9 or 10 then we can stay up.

I was impressed with Ji throughout the Olympics, Campbell has shown flashes of good finishing, Noble was good when he came on against Gronigen. Not much to say about Wickham in a S'land shirt.

Having said that, we should be looking at top 8 not staying out of the bottom 3!

In a word no we need experience to go with the youth of Connor, Ji et al. These lads will come good but only alongside a descent strike partner.

of course we can, they are inexperienced, not useless (well i dont think so, lots do).

Only way we will ever know is if we give them game time, if its not working then buy in Jan (I dont believe for 1 minute all 4 strikers wont have any goals at all come January, and I believe Bendtner only had 2 or 3 Jan last year)

in essence we will be fine, could we do with 1 or even 2, probably, but I just cant see us going down if we dont buy a striker all.

Cant see it myself without adding to the squad we will struggle. we proved at the end of last season how woeful we were. we need fresh faces to help give the team and the fans a boost and any lack of signings wont help us retain the likes of sess

With the current strike force we have I reckon we will be in the mix to go down...we need some quality in, but then again MoN knows this

Yes I think we'd stay up but it would be a season of treading water rather than moving forward, also I think there are 3 worse teams than us.

Well I reckon Southampton will struggle, Swansea 2nd season syndrome, WBA as the manager isn't as good as Roy Hodgson (IMO Roy kept them up) and possibly Stoke.

As it stands, I think we're looking at around 14th, and that's not nearly good enough.

That's a good point, some fans need to see fresh faces, a hint of improvement or they simply won't bother to turn up.

On a particular scenario assuming we play 4-6 and do not score any goals all season and do not have any goals scored against us we would finish with 38 points that may do for survival...but that would be that and we will end up with about 10,000 as a home crowd!,

But why would we play 4-6-0 we have 4 strikers, Bruce done it once last season we drew 0-0 (got beat in extra time but after 90 minutes) and MON done it once (i thin it was only the once) and I believe we drew 0-0 but for the life of me i cant remember who it was against.

Before Campbells injury everyone was saying he was exceptional, he comes back after nearly 2 years out (give or take some games in the middle) and he isnt good enough anymore.

The jury is still out on the other 3 though, but some fans have realy short memories.

I think we need to give Campbell longer, somebody once said, a player only gets close to his old self after playing for as long as he was out through injury. Campbell must have something as he was recently selected for England.

I think we need at least one target man, ideally before the arsenal game but defo before the reading game.. Campbell is quick (or at least he is when he's fit) and I've got friends who watch the fizzy pop who still think Wickham was an absolute steal at 8m given his potential and keep giving me grief when I bitch that we need a striker.. They reckon given the game time he'll come good sooner rather than later... I just think we need somebody to get in defenders faces and allow Campbell, ji or Wickham to get on the ball and run at the back four.. Yeah we can stay up given what we have but that is all we'll do and that makes attracting players next summer harder.. We need to progress now in order to progress next year. Either that or we are going to get left behind..

Why should we need to though? We should have more money than we have had in the recent past. We also have had 18 months to fix this problem, longer with left back. We have known Gyan was leaving for a year.

So how has the club allowed this situation to happen. Personally for me I would pay no more than 8 million for Fletcher. Why are we still playing cat and mouse with Wolves.

Why are we being linked with only relegated players, this for me represents a bad policy.

I know it can all be turned around in 3 weeks so final judgements can't be made just yet. If our target is top ten we need to get our finger out.

We have 4 'strikers' on the books none are good enough to play up front for us ATM. So we need two strikers in and we loan the worst two out or sell them!

That is why we are really playing 4-6 every time we go out on the pitch. I just wish we would forgo this obsession with Fletcher,' he is a journeyman not more no less, I would like us to move up a grade and to push for second half of the table

ATM the Gooners will stuff us and we struggle to beat Reading

I agree with your Fletcher statement, just not with the strikers we have now, I think they can and will do a job for us.

Wickham = huge price tag, young, team not doing very well at the start, not just him, team doing good, he was injured, team doing crap again he came back (at least for a few appearances), and you cant blame the team performances on him.
Ji = young, new country (even though he had been over here with reading) same again with the team, our start wasnt great, so much so our manager got sacked, and the Gyan ****e probably didnt help either.
Campbell = out injured for the best part of 2 years, was great before that, could get back to his best, might not, but only games will tell.
Noble = Unproven at this level, great for the reserves though.

all 4 even Campbell in a way, it was their first season in the premier league, not many players at 18ish in their 1st season in the premier league score hatfuls.

Personally I just think people are a bit short sighted, they will come good (and i believe this year they will) and its not all doom and gloom.

Yes we need fresh faces, no we wouldn't go down. It would be tough though. We won't be playing Man U etc every week and there are some very average sides in this league.

To answer the question - anything could happen but I don't think we will go down with the squad.
