With talk of Mancini being given his cards and with nothing else to play for, could we get at least a point in Manchester? If Mancini is leaving he won't be concerned about the result and the team could be dreaming of the their hols. They weren't particularly impressive against Wigan and having been beaten in the Cup Final their season is effectively over. Sorry, just spotted a similar thread!
It's a possibility, a very slim one, but it's there none the less. The ridiculous thing is, that if Stoke and West Ham both lose and we somehow do the unthinkable and beat Man City, we'll actually finish the season 1oth in the league!
It'll be interesting to see how City play now that safety has been reached. ManCity were certainly surprised by Wigan (as I was). Can we surprise them as well? At least the tension is gone!
There's nothing to lose, try and end the season on a high. I'd say the club budgeted for 17th place and each place is worth around £800k. His target was to stay up. Maybe that's the main reason Hughton adopted the 'don't lose' attitude especially after the four-game losing run.
Let's set the Murphy's loose on them! 4-4-2: ---------Ruddy----------- Martin-Bennett-Bassong-Wyatt Murphy-McGeehan-Johnson-Murphy -----------Morris--Holt----------
In the two years we've been in the Prem, Man city are the only team we haven't taken at least a point from. I'd like to see this remedied.
Depends if the players what to put in a shift in honour of Mancini. Just to boot I think it's a ****ing cheap jack trick to pull on a manager who managed to win a club a league trophy and an FA cup.
