Firstly we hear that Stephen Kavanagh will report us to the FA for breaking the rules regarding transfers and publicising a failed bid.

Now it appears that Sochaux chairman Alexandre Lacombe will report us to UEFA about contacting Modibo Maiga without the club's permission.

This is quite significant as it could signal that we've failed to land both of these players, especially considering Lacombe told L'equipe the other day that Maiga will not be leaving Sochaux.

Could you imagine if the club were fined for their actions? It would simply be another reason that we "didn't manage to get the players over the line before the transfer window closed".

Lacombe seems a bit of a ****er really.
Players wanting to leave/attempting to force through a transfer is part and parcel of football today.
We have accepted it on numerous occasions and Sochaux need to!

i think we conduct ourselves quite well with regard to making bids (other than not offering enough to actually secure the players we're after....)

pard's only really confirms that we have made a bid for a given player after its pretty much already public knowledge after being leaked by third parties. if the cats out of the bag and all over the press he's not really saying anything that we don't know of already.

Exactly, we're usually very good about it, sometimes everyone knows who we're bidding for and he still wont name the player out of respect.

Apparently they're just planning to give Joey Barton a 3 match ban for us 'tapping up' a player.
