Sunday Mirror sports journo Paul Smith has Tweeted this - he's usually in the know... Smudge1962 Paul Smith Bernie Ecclestone claiming three or four parties are in the bidding for QPR. An absolute load of rubbish. I originally wrote they were using Seymour Pierce to sell QPR. But this claim of other interested parties is to flush out Tony Fernandes I'm told they are beginning to suspect he doesn't have the money to do a deal and talks are cooling. We want a deal concluded before the PL season starts. That would be the fastest sale in the history of selling football clubs. #havingalaugh
I think we could all have told them that Fernandes doesn't have the money. Maybe they haven't heard about the internet!
I dont think this lame excuse for a reporter has got one story about us right yet and this goes back to the 'Faurlin saga'. Is he a QPR because most his material seems to involve moaning or complaining about us?
Get with the programme Smudge - Cerny knew this last week. His wealth (or lack of) is on wikipedia (that bastion of truth).
So, if this is to be believed we now have no interested parties again. Eccleston is using a fiction to flush out Fernandes who in turn is also believed to be being used to flush out Mittal. My head hurts. And we're doomed again...
I seem to recall Fernandez claiming he had an offer to buy West Ham accepted after Sullivan and Gold had bought the club. It seems Fernandez is a consumate bullshitter and I wouldn't put too much faith in this deal going through unless there is someone bigger pulling the strings...
Dear Mr Mittal, Can you please cast aside your principles and painstaking penny-counting and pay Bernie whatever he wants to f**k off. Regards, Joe
If this is true, and it does have a ring of truth to it, it justifies what Lakshmi Mittal has done in leaving the Dutch auction. It's mostly been about puffing up the price. Now, we just need the German prosecutor to bring charges against Bernie, making him even more keen to offload the club and more reasonable about the price, and may be, may be the Mittals will be in the game once more...
Fourthed. Don't believe all this Smudge Smith guy writes, he is wrong all the time. We all knew before Cerny told us that this guy Fernandes didn't have the wonga. More likely an Air Asia sponsorship deal is in the offing, tho Tango + Cash obviously dont mind people thinking he may buy to bump up the price to real Interested parties. ....What a ****ing mess
I must admit I became a smudge follower during the FA hearing as he seemed to be on our side and from the first day said that the FA's case was falling apart. But then a Swansea fan sent me a link to an article that smudge wrote for the Sunday mirror claiming the same as the sun and that we would be deducted points. It seems like most journos, he writes all angles in different places so that he can point to one and say he was write all along.
