We didn't do badly without Suarez at start of the season- but no reason we couldn't have done better. I don't think because we did well- doesn't mean having Suarez wouldn't have helped. We went from winning games 1-0 to by multiple goal margins (when we won) almost immediately once Suarez arrived back. Not because of Suarez scoring necessarily- but his assists too were invaluable. An extra goal a game would have given us 3 more points and a 5 goal lower gap in GD from City (within striking distance) - so we probably wouldn't have been so foolhardy against Palace. Impossible to tell- but I find it difficult to believe that we wouldn't have been at least a little bit better with our best player in the squad for those 5 games. Of course- then Suarez would maybe have been more tired for later games... who knows.
Terrible defending all season. We should have better goal difference than City, but we've leaked all season. How many OGs has skrtel got? Ming cost us a few points too. Gerrard as well. City have been the best team in the league for sure, we've been the best attack in the league but as a squad City have been better. All these errors combined cost us, not the bite
Better GD with Reina perhaps, fewer conceeded? Probably more goals too since he has better distribution.
