No stand out teams in the Championship this year. Huddersfields win helping to keep it very tight in top half. Our squad will likely strengthen considerably over next four weeks with first choice players returning from injury and some additions to squad according to Warnock. With a stronger squad, our next half dozen games are all winnable. If things can be put right behind the scenes, I've no doubt Warnock can get us into at least playoff positions by Christmas

Well said-agree totally. Still could go either way, but I'm well positive after events on Saturday and think warnock will hold it together until reinforcements can arrive!

The financial rewards for achieving promotion this season are massive...

Bates may even spend some of his ill gotten gains.!

Nice to see "One Simon Grayson" reach 2nd after equal games played for the first time at this level (albeit after only 7 matches). Once again producing a fantastic run with just 1 defeat in the opening game with the only goal scored in stoppage time, and to think it is the 2nd time he has lost the clubs best striker on arrival in the Championship. Don't know how he does it!

He's attack minded. He's gone with an attacking approach to the Championship. They are likely to ship goals much the same way we did when we came up, although I see them having a slightly better crack at it than we did.

We're just... ****. Warnock looks lost without the backing he was promised and so obviously has not received.

Hmm, don't get too positive too early. From all reports it doesn't seem as though we played that well. Albeit it was against a forest side with considerable investment and we had a fair few players out injured but I still think its too early. I hate the line "if we can just win 'x' amount of game then...."

And Marko, while warnock didn't get a huge amount of money, he still got more than Grayson ever did and he has probably built one of the weakest squads we have ever had, Snoddy leaving didn't help of course but then he has wasted money I think bringing in average players

I don't really rate Smithies in goal and it is debatable whether Peter Clarke has the ability to play consistently all season at this level. Apparently they have a great RB, and it appears Grayson has made good signings with Lynch and Dixon adding to their back 4.
They have good balance in midfield with Clayton, Norwood and Southern. Ward and Scannell are both decent attacking options. Finally in attack Vaughan looks a good signing (if he continues to stay fit) and Novak is hard working.
Similar to us though i'd worry about their strength in depth and so far they have been lucky with injuries, once they come it could be a striggle.

I'm happy with our points tally after a very difficult start, however certainly not confident we can achieve anything with the smallest squad in the league and few quality players. Games like Saturday will be interesting to see how we cope against an unfancied small club away from home, but one that has performed solid so far and have not struggled for goals.

Grayson has had a good start, but starting was never his problem. He usually gets a hangover after Christmas that lasts until the end of the season ....

    Only time will tell.

He actually didn't start well really, he'd do below average at the start and really kick on at the end of october through to december really well and then fall off again after christmas. Although there squad does seem just as thin as leeds' squad have been in recent years

Although when he took over for our match on boxing day against league leaders Leicester City, he managed to pick up a fantastic 52 points in 25 matches, incredible given the run of defeats the team suffered before his appointment. Understand the point you are making about the other 2 seasons though, although 2009/10 was unique given the success we had in 3 cups (this with a league 1 squad). 3 in the League Cup including an extra time win over Watford and an unfortunate defeat over Liverpool. 5 in the JPT. Also 6 in the FA Cup including extra time v Kettering, victory at scum, and 2 tough matches against Spurs.

He was doing the "we are overachieving" comments the other day, real deja vu.

I think he will do ok, the good thing for him is the expectations there are a bit lower, so if he keeps them in touch with the playoff places, he will avoid a lot of criticism (for a time, anyway)

I think if he keeps them around the playoffs this season he'll please his critics. Then it'll be interesting to keep an eye on things because it will be an opportunity to build on a solid platform and kick on for the second season in the championship.

With proper chairman support over next summer, I'll be watching their progress with great interest as it'll be a very similar situation we were in with him. Might finally get the chance to see how he manages with proper backing and a season of good support.

Grayson doing well, let's judge him in December when everyones played everyone else. Still think we've had a tough start but then we usually seem to do better against the better teams

Yes we have had a tough start, but you can't hide the fact that we have been ****.

Don't disagree, though if you want a cup half full comment, you'd expect with so many new faces (some not match fit) that we would styart slow - and we have played teams in the top 8, apart from peterborough

Dont agree. Were as good as I expected given the goings on and full team not assembled yet for one reason or another plus a bundle of injuries. I think to say were ****e is far too sweeping a statement after a handful of matches

I think he's brought in the exact level of player he can afford.

Exactly and as Warnock has said, he still needs three marquee signings if money is made available. Obviously if there is no money, he will have to potter on as he is. A bit like the way little mickey mouse outfits like Milwall have to

We have 10 points from 7 games, we are 3 points off a play off place. We have 19 games until the 1st Janury when there is a fixture break - If we continue the way we are going that would be around 8 points or three wins outside the top 6.

IF new owners were in place and NW could secure some targets yes he might be within touching distance to turn this around but we have to be realistic, I don't believe it will be a bottomless pit of money and what teams are going to be ready to sell their stars? Other teams will also be looking to strengthen and it won't be a forgone conclusion that we will get 2-3 players in that is the minimum we would need.

I see our only hope is securing funds within the next 3-4 weeks and NW securing some loans with a view or agreement to a permanent deal come January.

Yes we are only 3 points outside the play offs however it is the poor on the pitch performances that alarm me and our inability to hold on to the ball.
