I think with Alnwick being forced out to Orient, even the most blinkered Bovril guzzler must be starting to get the big picture. This is now Roly's train set, and he is going to do what he likes with it. Players from his clubs are just like pawns, to be moved at RD's will around the chess board. It is a bold move by Roly because dicing with a football fan's passion brings risks, as the likes of Hulyer, Sunleys and Mike Norris found out in our recent past. I was at the meeting at the old VC when Norris came to talk to the fans. Perhaps Roly should do some research
Why is it we don't recognise the right people?? This is the sort of nonsense I expect to hear from the Murray sycophants who've done their best to re-write history for the last 20 odd years... Hulyer did a great job in difficult circumstances when he bought the club from Gliksten, but was totally screwed by not getting the ground from him as well...Remember he brought Lennie Lawrence to the club and gave him a 4yr contract...So if nothing else he at least knew something about managers, a lot more than can be said about Murray... John Fryer's Sunley literally saved CAFC from death in '84... The Valley wasn't an option for him either at the time, because Gliksten was still holding onto it, in the hope of profiting from it... As for Roly being the new Maxwell..? No, he's trying something different & whether it can work successfully in football is yet to be seen...
What I find amazing are the Teflon-like qualities of Saint Dicky Murray. A topical example. His ex official spokesman, no names required, but a busy individual who wears a cardigan and loves being seen stuffing vol au vents pre match in the boardroom. Today the said person has criticised RD and Kirsten for not communicating with fans since the changes began this week. Fair enough....but hold on a mo....didn't Roly say that Dicky Murray was being retained precisely to be the club's "voice to the fans" ? Shurely shome mishtake So, why once again is that "Voice" of the Bovril starved masses strangely silent, and why isn't Henry Turding & his bum guzzling mates condemning him
It's another example of the hypocrisy I mentioned yesterday... The very same people are full of bile & vitriol for RD, as they were with TJ & MS, much of the criticisms they throw up, especially at the last board, were just as relevant when Sir Galahad was at the helm, but mob protection over club interest seemed to be the important agenda for them then... Not that long ago I actually read "The cardigan" admitting that Murray had made mistakes... It was probably stated to elaborate a greater derogatory point about TJ & MS, yet can somebody point me to a post where he has actually shared what he thought Murray's mistakes might have been, as and when they were made..? I got a feeling I may have a long wait...
