Could one of us end up on the board?

According to this article, it could happen...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29652317

It's an interesting read, and a nice concept. It would only work if the right fans got on the board. I'd imagine I would be just totally confused sitting in a QPR board meeting, and my opinion could well be steam rolled over by the bigger business voices of Mr's Beard, Bhatti and Fernandes.

A nice idea though, would anyone else fancy a seat on the board?

    Just a vote winner, surely?

Keep politicians away from my club thank you. Unless they have come to sing out for the lads.

A bit off topic as this isn't directly board related. But in Germany the members vote every year at the general meeting regarding who sits on the board.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/business-22625160

    'Member-owners'
When Uli Hoeness, the president of Bayern Munich, was asked why the club didn't have higher ticket prices, like they do in England, he said: "We do not think the fans are like cows to be milked. Football has got to be for everybody. That's the biggest difference between us and England."

German clubs are organised in a very different way from British clubs.

In the Premier League, assorted billionaires own the top clubs (Manchester United - the Glazer family; Manchester City - Sheikh Mansour; Chelsea - Roman Abramovich).

In Germany, there is the "50 + 1" rule, whereby the association or club has to have a controlling stake, commercial interests can't gain control, In Bayern Munich, for example, Audi and Adidas each own 9% but the rest is controlled by the members via the club.

There are two exceptions: Wolfsburg is owned by Volkswagen and Bayer Leverkusen is owned by the chemical company, Bayer - both clubs originated as works sporting clubs. But generally a club in Germany is a true club for the members.

So if you ask fans outside a Bayern game who owns the club, they are incredulous: "The members, of course", they say.

And by members they refer to us fans who have memberships at the club. Unfortunately I can't see how they could change the structure in England, by now it's to late imo.

Itll end up being Clive, Finney or someone else already involved with the club. Prime candidates for corruption and back handers...

Id do it if they were covering travel costs though....I think Im fairly representitveof most on this board and our supporters in general

    Can't see the point.

Won't have any clout whatsoever. Pure tokenism.

Queens is right. It would end up with us being "represented" by Clive W. Reports of board meetings would end up being 200 pages long.

"I sat gazing across the table, clutching my half-filled (or half empty) glass of Perrier, staring onto the eyes of Tony. He looked at me and smiled a smile that could melt the biggest iceberg in the world. His eyes burning into my very soul as his fingers tapped out the rhythm to the March of the Toy Soldiers from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. Amit just sighed, rolled his eyes and shuffled his papers impatiently.

The order of business contained so many items that my head spun with the thought that there might not be time for "any other business" when my ideas on which purveyor of brown and red sauce to chose for the concession stands in the new stadium in 2032 might be discussed. Oh woe is me."

    Outstanding Eamon

Needs some straight talking IMO … The word Guys would be used every 15 seconds i am certain.
If i was there it would end with a mass false feeding Fois Gras Style of small pieces of a QPR shirt into the lot of them to finally stop the bullshit… well Amit would be excused
