We're still two strikers short maybe to win the league unless Jose is good he can win a league with Torres ...but could Matic be the man to finally sort the pivot? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...emanja-matic-be-chelseas-answer-to-yaya-toure
Matic and say Ramires could be some midfield - energy, drive, strong and with a few goals in them too. Seems a perfect compliment for our 3 attacking mids and not dissimilar to say Yaya and Fernandinho at City. For all this talk of a 'pivot', City don't have one and do just fine with the main creativity coming from other areas. Still at least a top striker light to be near City though.
We haven't got a striker but we're scoring goals! I think Torres is getting better all the time and Matic will only make us stronger!
This season was always one to settle and build with Jose back in charge. To be where we are is great but can you imagine how it could have been with a good striker
In one aspect he sure is, and that's results. Am very interested to see how he addresses the defence and strikers. Can he improve them or will he spend up big again ?? Will he bring in any really talented kids on loan, or ignore them as he usually does?? I hope the answer is somewhere in the middle, because we are good enough for top 4 now, and if we blood a couple of kids and keep top 4 next season, and keep the spending under control, then we are definitely going to be along the right path. If we simply spend and spend, we will have achieved little.
As long as we've still got something to play for come April/May I don't mind. I can't see Matić being able to fully settle for another 18 months yet. We don't have the vast array of attacking options City do so our season depends entirely on being solid defensively as well as the form of Oscar, Willian, Hazard or whoever plays behind the striker.
Which defenders and strikers would you bring back... apart from Lukaku obviously? Think Terry and Azpi have improved under him, and Cahill starting to
