Could Laudrup be in trouble for his criticism of the ref?

I think this is the first time I've heard him have a go at a refereeing decision and he hasn't held back.
I think what's he's said is spot on and he has no qualms about the defeat, but surely few would disagree that play should have been stopped when Michu hit the deck. To let it continue was a shocking decision and it had to be said.
I still fancy the FA to hit Laudrup with a fine or something though

no i think made a very valid point, refs should be vigilant when it comes to head knocks and stop the game immediately

Agreed, but the FA don't seem to care if it's a valid point or not.
If you speak out about a ref, you get a rap on the knuckles

Agreed I would like to see greater transparency in relation to referees , like for instance seeing match reports written by the Observer, maybe knowing that the public can see what is written about them may make them a little bit more circumspect. It'll never happen but I can dream :undecided:

Dean is a fool and definitely should've blown up straight away, I think it's harsh to criticise the lino though he wouldn't overrule the ref on something like that where he's seen it too. If Laudrop gets in trouble for what he said we might as well do away with post match interviews they can't say anything.

I know Andy Gray is a tool, but he said the opposite on talksport earlier. He said Dean was probably ball watching so it was up to the linesman to notify the ref that play needed to be stopped.
Personally I don't know which was to blame, but it was a bit of a balls up whoever it was.
It's probably just as well that the same officials weren't in charge at the lane when Muamba went down

If Andy Gray disagrees with me then all the more reason to agree with me :p

The ref was watching the incident and saw Michu layed out on the ground, that's his decision to make in my opinion.

What irks me is that the physio can't just run onto the pitch like they can in rugby but have to be given the ok from the ref.

You have to err on the side of caution in cases like this. If I was running the line I would have communicated my concern to the referee even if I thought he had seen it. A life could be at stake and petty protocol shouldn't even enter the equation. Common sense should have prevailed. Ridiculous decision and Michael Laudrup is 100% right in the matter.

I thought that myself. What if Laudrup had decided to send them on anyway while they were playing on? Luckily it wasn't too serious, but if it was I can't see what Dean could have done if the concern of the player came before whatever repercussions could have come after

I hope he doesn't get into trouble for it, but I wouldn't put anything past the FA. Just be thankful that we no longer answer to the FAW-Cardiff.... or else Laudrup would have a 3 match suspension on him, and Michu would have 5 match suspension for headbutting the keepers elbow.

I was at the game yesterday and it was right in front of us. Dein saw him going down under what was a fair and heavy challenge. He has to be at fault for not blowing the whistle straight away as should the spurs player for not kicking the ball out. I thought Michu was badly hurt at first. They(spurs) knocked it out 5 mins earlier when they had a player with a bit of a limp. A bit of poor sportsmanship by their players and bad no piss poor refereeing from the arrogant twat that is dein.

As for Laudrup, I think he was fair with his comments in that he didnt criticise the desicion but did criticise the failing of the referee to look after the players safety.

Who cares what the FA think! At the end of the day, the referee was negligent according to the game rules, so if they don't like what Laudrup has pulled them up on, then tough titty, we have had some very poor refs over the years, and two games in particular that spring to mind, was Scummy Iron cup game, where we ended up with just 6 players on the pitch, and the QPR qame where De Vries had a cheek bone fracture.

I was at both games and can say that I've never seen such chronic refereeing as that Scummy game, if I could have got my hands on that Ref, I would have punched his bloody lights out!.............<ok>

I was at the Scunny game, probably the most crazy reffing display ever witnessed in Swansea! including bias local league stuff!!

Scunny kicked lumps out of us that night too.

Not sure why the ref didnt blow up but what didnt help, and its been mentioned on this board already, was Chico rolling around on the ****ing floor like a big girl! thats exactly the kind of thing that plants a seed of doubt in the ref's mind when something like Michu's challenge happens later on. Chico needs to stop that **** straight away, he will get no respect off us fans if he continues those antics and it doesnt help ref's when something genuine happens later on, he may well have thought"oh, i got conned there, but i wont let that happen again" they are onyl human and will react and try and counter things that went on before "evening up" if you like.

Chico sticking up for his mate is very admirable and what we like to see, but if he keeps play acting it will give our team a reputation that we could well do without. Swansea city is known in the premier league as being a good clean footballing team with no bullshit, id like to keep it that way !!

Chico start to man up ffs !!

Wasn't that Clatternburg? I know I may be way off there though but he made the injured Idrizaj come back on the field to avoid having to abandon the game didn't he?
You're right though, we don't half get some pearlers <doh>

Mike Dean is a twat of the highest order and the worst ref we get.

    1. Penalty for Cardiff
    2. Taylor's red card
    3. Michu

    There's a pattern emerging here.

I wouldn't blame the Spurs players to be fair, Defoe had his back to Michu and wouldn't have known, I did see the Spurs defenders waving for play to be stopped straight away but Dean ignored them

But dilli, he was looking in that direction when he went down and saw the colision. If it had been a spurs player down they would have knocked it out. but thats life.
Ttalking about refs, dont forget the stunning performance of Stuart Atwell against Havant. 100% inept, so what do the league do promote him to the premier league. Only to realise, what every football fan already new. HE IS ****ING USELESS
