That with the sharp influx of betting on Grant Holt to Sunderland that the rumours about Wickham are true and we have agreed this as part of the deal?

I have no idea if this is the case but it would seem to tie together.

if this was the case i'd want wickham here for free and holt can go up there for £5m. sounds fair to me...

its a case of people putting two and two together isn't it. wickham is never going to be a replacement for holt, he just wouldn't be able to do the same things. he wasn't good enough to get in the black cats team last year so why he would suddenly be viewed by a fellow premier league team as a good loan signing is beyond me. also, this all stemmed from one source on twitter who claimed it was a done deal, who when questioned by someone later then said it was merely a rumour.

With regards to Wickham joining, I sincerely hope it doens't happen, because then I'll have to want him to succeed.

Some of the newer posters may not be aware, but I pretty much dedicated most of our last season in the Championship to harassing Ipswich fans over their bold predictions for Wickham. Eventually it ended it in a drawn out saga where I had kidnapped Wickham and had him locked in a basement in our pub "The Nest".
