Folks, as far as Iam concerned there is a pattern starting to emerge here. In the space of 24 hrs we have had two highly rated full backs knock us back. Whilst I felt Mendys decision was understandable to a certain extent ie his age, not wanting to leave France and Champion League this evenings developments regarding Perruzi offer an alarming prospect. Perruzi has failed to agree personal terms with even his agent Nazarenno Marcollese claiming to be bewildered by the decision. Infact his agent is allegedly ( according to Goal.Com) about to leave Perruzi high and dry as a result of his clients apparant high demands. Marcollese even going so far to confirm that he hasnt asked for additional fees other than the norm to conduct the transfer. As such folks, is the lad being greedy ? or could it be these lads simply dont want to come here???
Possibly! I think they hope being linked with us, or any other team of similar standing, might prompt a team who are playing European football to put in a sly bid!
We are not going to get all our targets. Every player we may fancy may not fancy us? The opposite will be equally as true. The important thing is that we get the right ones in by 17th August.
Not enough to attract a lad from Argentina to come over here. Their league is of a decent standard and we can hardly offer him champions league or europa league football.
They don't live in our world though mate. Simple as that. I wouldn't move half way around the world for the same money.
Our full back priority should be Danny rose imo, I've never heard of these others so can't really say I would be pleased or disappointed if we sign them or not
We've only missed out on one confirmed target, there will be more, i'm more dissapointed that we didnt give a public **** you to the lad before the inevitable happened in this case
Seen a few comments like this mate, but for a club of our stature (Premier League, yes, but perennial also-rans...), to start ****ing off players like Mendy & this lad, lads that some of the top teams in Europe have an interest in, well it can't go in our favour. I think we'll get this one over the line, people seem to be disregarding that Mendy said BEFORE we made a bid, he'd like to stay in France with a top club, he's ended up at the biggest club there. We're not at the level yet that lads are gonna be crawling over glass to sign, certainly not overseas lads, that'll take time, and respectable finishes, consistently.
Business is business. Everyone should aim to get fair market value for their services. This kid got low-balled and he declined. Not much else to it. Maybe they can still resolve the wages, but personally, I don't blame him.
True enough. I've read a lot about this player, and was really excited to see him. Sounds the genuine article. Today was one of those dark transfer days, nothing good about it. There is always tomorrow, eh?
