One of the 10 Celebrities That Could Have Been Footballers:

    Nicky Byrne (Pop Star)

The former Westlife star was close to a career in professional football when he played in goal for Leeds. He was part of the Whites' 1997 FA Youth Cup winning squad which also featured fielded Paul Robinson, Jonathan Woodgate, Harry Kewell and Alan Smith before being released for being too short! He was later signed up for the pop project by Louis Walsh.

I have no idea who this is, but maybe you know of him?

    Yeah I knew about this

He was 1st choice keeper of the youth team from what I remember but I though he'd injured himself. Broke his leg or something which put an end to his career.

In several interviews I've seen Byrne still speaks fondly of his time at Leeds too. Good guy
