Really looking forward to the Ethiad tomorrow but im honestly worried that if we defend with the 'bus parked' then we may concede a few. Think we should really go for it with cisse and zamora up top!!

Well apparently 17 of the 18 teams who have gone there this season defended and then lost.

The one team who had a go at them, got the draw. Sunderland.

And according to Sun Tzu in 'The Art of War' the surprise attack is the most effective, so we should start now, ninja style, attacking the city squad in their beds, or whatever nightclub Balotelli is in ( think Cisse should handle that, he has the dress sense to be camouflaged perfectly).

Should make a respactable 3-0 defeat into a humbling 7-0 one instead imo.

But what the hell, give it a go, doesn't change a thing by how many we eventually will lose with. I'd prefere a gung ho approach, if nothing else than to put an early scare into them :)

If we attack them it will give them fear. I don't think Sparky does attack, he'll gave a gameplan. I just hope it's not the one he took to Chelsea.

We ain't ever going to get a 0-0....so let's get our goal first ! Seriously we cannot afford another poor start a la Stamford Bridge.

Haven't seen us adopt an attack-minded approach once this season. Don't think we've got the nouse to maintain it if we do and certainly it would leave us wide open at the back.

Agree with Venables. Adopt the Chelsea approach against Barcelona using Cisse, Mackie and Taarabt to hit them on the counter.

Why be something we're clearly not for the most important game of the season? That's suicide.

    This is correct imo.
We have to do BOTH!! Defend with our lives in numbers, BUT carry a threat going forward by getting Taarabt on the ball and stretching them with Mackie and Cisse. One thing though......WILL CISSE START?!!

That's the thing about Hughes that's baffled me to date. Player selection both starting and subs have been noticeably suspect. Cisse is far more effective than Zamora and should start - but will he? Good question.

Very surprised by Col's comments here. I thought he was an attack-minded chap.

We'll know soon enough Brix, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Zamora start and Cisse on the bench!!

Swords, if we go all gung-ho we'll be slaughtered mate. What I said was we should defend in numbers BUT use the ball well and get at them as often as possible to keep them on their toes!! That's why Cisse should start to stretch them with his pace!

That sounds better. You had me worried for a minute. Lets try and score though. Sunderland did it, so can we! <party>
