I see where you`re at mate but I`m not sure I like the idea of him being sacked in case they bring somebody better. If he has to go though? Oh yes!
Who is there our there though, it seems they want him gone but who do they want to replace him? I haven't given it much thought but the best I can come up with is Laudrup, if he's still without a job that is. I don't think he'd be a good fit though. Steve Clarke maybe?
Every Mag I either spoke to or saw on here shrugged and said 'yeah, just a squad filer for us' ........ hasn't he started every game?
Not only that, he's taking all their set pieces as well, despite their protests, he did turn out to be the Cabaye replacement!
That's true I'd forgotten about him. I suspect he wouldn't fancy it though. He's a steady, solid kind of guy and neither of those words even remotely describe Newcastle. They may be a relatively big club, relative to Burnley etc, but I think the Ashley situation and the stadium being called #sports direct@st James#cheapsportsclothes#@park would be off putting to a lot of decent managers.
That`s a good point and Ashley certainly doesn`t help. Every club/manager needs the fans onside & Ashley seems to alienate them at every opportunity. Not good imo.
Yeah I presume that the better manager you are, the more picky you are about the club you go to. Kinnear for example would manage a pub team if anyone actually asked him to, but I imagine that Ashleys dual policies of selling his best players and subtly scapegoating the manager when things go wrong wouldn't appeal to the likes of Moyes.
Can`t see a real top flight manager wanting anything to do with him tbh. Probably end up with Solksjaer. Kinnear would be well suited to a pub team except they`d never get him out of the pub.
Moyes isn't capable of managing abroad. That leaves him with England or Scotland. Rangers and Celtic are the only possibilities. In England he'll never manage a top side ever again ... ... Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Spurs or Everton wouldn't touch him. That leaves him with the mid table clubs like Newcastle ........ it's possible if Ashley thinks he can control him.
I wouldn't say with certainty that he couldn't manage abroad. I don't see why not really I still think he's a good manager and his reputation in England is a bit screwed at the moment. Are Newcastle a mid table club? They collapsed last season and haven't improved one bit. They have no defence and no attack. I don't think Moyes would risk getting relegated as a follow up to his Man United humiliation.
Isn't Moyes in hospital right now? Has Pulis got a job yet? If Newcastle (or any team) are still facing relegation by mid-November, Pulis becomes much more attractive. Love the man or hate him, he never gets relegated. Look at Palace last season.
Not something you often hear It would be great if the Mags, who booed Allardyce's football style out of the ground, welcomed Pulis as the new Messiah. BTW, when Jack missed that sitter he must have thought, 'I bet those Mackem bastards are laughing.'
