Bristol City NEWS: Could Steve Cotterill be set for Nottingham Forest return after Freedman sacking? STEVE Cotterill has been placed at 25/1 by the bookies to replace sacked Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman. The Cheltenham-born boss left as Bristol City manager in January after leading them to the League One title and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season. Cotterill previously managed Championship side Forest but after less than a year in charge departed the club in July 2012 He then went on to coach at QPR before moving to Ashton Gate. Former Leicester City chief Nigel Pearson is the short-priced favourite with Sky Bet at 4/1, while the likes of Billy Davies 6/1, David Moyes 10/1 and Gary Monk 12/1 all appear high up the list. Could you see Cotterill back in charge at Forest? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-City-NEWS-boss-Steve-Cotterill-placed-25/story-28917930-detail/story.html
Can't see Cotterill being welcomed by the fans; would be seen by them as a backwards step. If Pearson's interested he'll surely be the man - not convinced a Premiership team would take a punt on him, so a big Championship side should be his aim.
I think SC found his level in League 1. If you are a team in L1 and want promotion, he's your man - but he won't take you further. His tactics and formation just don't work at Championship level. Not sure which managers are out of work now, but I would expect Forest to go for someone with Championship 'pedigree' at the least - possibly even Prem experience. Pearson fits the bill - but would he go to a club with a 'hands-on' owner? Probably not. They may even try and 'poach' someone away from their current club.
Nottingham is close to Leicester from Pearson's perspective, making itvmore attractive than us. Can't see Cotterell going back
NO and that is just an opinion, not fact . he has failed at Championship level this season .. so why?
I reckon Pearson would be up for the Forest job big time. He could do a job similar to Leicester there...
listened to 606 on Sunday and he was the "the main one" they were on about.. however .. they also said it will be brave man to put their reputation on the line for that job .. they will be the 7th since 2011/12
cant say I heard anything that stuck out on who we might be having on the radio ..loads on here though ..and the betting markets did their usual thing hyping up individuals to attract the drifters ...
