Watched Sky Sports and our match covered in the studio by Tony Cottee. He said it was the worst game he had seen this season and gave us no credit whatsoever for an excellent away draw against a team top of the form table. Then just listened to Burnsie and NB interview and both agreed that we played well particularly first half. Should have given that southern prat the Wet Spam game - he's never interested when a northern team plays. Well done City.
Think we get a raw deal generally. Most of the time it's the opposing team that have not performed rather than us playing well. Happy with a point and another clean sheet. UTT
Couldn't give the tiniest sh1t what anyone says, no matter what league you're in there are some games when the best plan of action playing for nil nil and getting it. I'd have taken that at kick off and more than happy with the score
Tony Cottee is a square-faced, cockney by numbers, West Ham cliche laden, boring Beagrie-lite, got nothing better to do, Sky Sports News acceptable faced lame excuse for rent-a-quote pundit, piece of ****. Having said that, he is more coherent than Soccer AM luvvie Chris Kamara. Robotic ****.
Don't forget, Cottee's on there because he didn't make enough as a footballer and isn't good enough to be a manager. It's a bit like getting legal advice from the Solicitors cleaner.
Kamara likes us, I've met him twice, he knows the team inside out, he speaks very highly of us, I was most impressed. Cottee is a tit, but not as a big a tit as Claridge.
That is pretty serious competition you've put him up against there. Even the fullsome pair of funbags on Dolly Parton's chest combined would struggle to match Claridge in the tit stakes.
OLM - agree about Kamara - very supportive of the Club. Re Sky: we had the same the other month when another southerner Paul Walsh covered our game against Southampton - was glowing every time Southampton got near goal and gave us fook all credit. Also, the numpty fronting Sky Sports tonight, Jules somebody or other (Mr Bean look alike) didn't challenge Cottee at all in the way Jeff Stelling would have.
I wasn't listening to Soccer Special tonight I had 5 Live Sports Extra for the full game; and the commentators on there (inc. Steven Reid of WBA?) were extremely complimentary of us, saying they could totally understand why we had the best defence of the league and that the two holding midfielders did their job extremely well and Matty looked a handful upfront; but that the Brum defence played extremely well. Really enjoyed their commentary; makes a change from the normal Humberside stuff brought to us by the jolly fat man Mr Burns. Well done city; out of the play-offs but an extremely good point! UTT. P.S. All I could hear in the background (as I was still listening through my Sky+) was Burnsie going on and on... that bloke must be bloody loud!
Hope your party is going will. We did good tonight, hope Vito stays fit, NB said that Carson going back to Sunderland tomorrow - Gulacsi is back with us. Sorry to spoil your party with that news.
Haven't a problem with Gulacsi as long as he stays on the bench - we are contracted to keep him for the season so makes sense Carson goes back to Sunderland. Re 5 Live: Pleased to hear someone bigging us up on the national media. Hopefully March can be a very productive month in the same way it was in 2008.
Sometimes you wish you could relive footballing moments just so you can appreciate them, don't you? March 2008 is one of those moments for me. We knew Wembley would be massive when we got there, but looking back, that run through March was probably just as important as that afternoon in May was. But I don't think any of us realised just how good March had been until April was here! February had been alright, but fairly non-descript, but those results... Didn't the 5-0 vs. Soton happen in March? What a month that was.
Oh no - I was meaning February 2008. I'm fairly chuffed with February 2012 so far - a win against Donny would've been good, but anyone not happy with equalling a club clean sheet record needs to take a look at themselves. A repeat of March 2008 would be very welcome though!
The perfect fls would be Damien Johnson ( Hull City Fan ) Leroy Rosenoir ( Sn is the best right back ever to come out at City )
West Brom then Leicester away in our promotion season were the moments I became convinced we were going up
I also watched it, and agree his lack of enthusiasm was over powering, being a forward, I think his appreciation for a good defensive display are lost on him. As you say well done city for an excellent point.
