Noel Edmonds sparks outrage by suggesting 'negative attitude' causes CANCER Noel Edmonds has come under fire for suggesting a cancer sufferer's ill health has been caused by his "negative attitude". The Deal or No Deal presenter sparked outrage following his comment on Twitter when a man suffering from the disease criticised him for promoting a £2,000 medical device. The TV host is a user of the EMPpad, a machine which aims to stimulate "cellular resonance" in the body. Praising the machine, he tweeted: "A simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer. Yep tackles cancer!" Responding to the post, @VaunEarl, whose Twitter biography states he has kidney cancer, lymph node metastases and psoriatic arthritis, described the machine as "quackery". He wrote: "This sort of quackery should be illegal if it isn't already," adding: "I think Noel Edmonds should stick to what he's good at. Presenting quiz shows and beard trimming, rather than curing cancer." Edmonds, 67, fired back: "Scientific fact-disease is caused by negative energy. Is it possible your ill health is caused by your negative attitude? #explore" "Did Noel Edmunds just suggest this man's cancer was caused by a negative attitude? WTF!!!!" one furious Twitter user replied. Another said: "My mother died of pancreatic cancer. She was the most positive person I've ever met who would help anybody, clown. "What a shame all the STUPID can't be cured by a box @NoelEdmonds," another wrote. http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/noel-edmonds-sparks-outrage-suggesting-8131239
For balance, he isn't saying it cures cancer. Careful use of the words, I think (until Fez tells me I am wrong). He says it tackles cancer, inferring that it helps a positive attitude which has been shown to assist in good health. It's a mash up of suggestion and carefully worded blather to not fib, but mislead. I read it as him claiming he box will uplift your state of mind, which contributes to better health, which can be positive in tackling major diseases. If he said it cured cancer he'd be in the ****. I can't see how he can claim it slows aging, or reduces pain, though, other than by placebo? People claim exercise does, even though it can hasten degeneration in some forms! He'd argue no one can prove a bad attitude and pessimism doesn't lead to a knock on effect in he body, instigating disease. We all know pessimism doesn't cause cancer, but extrapolating his argument can lead you to presuming it COULD do. Tabloid sensationalism... He poses a question that the mans negative attitude is causing his cancer and asks him to explore that idea. That's NOT saying it is causing his cancer. The tabloids are forever taking sound bites and writing them up to exaggerate it all for a story. And mugs lap it up and jump on the bandwagon of hate. Leave him to his options. Save your cash, and read any claim carefully!
Mike Ashley deserves a mention for the way he exploits Sports Direct staff, then acts like it all just got a bit too much for him when asked to explain in public. He knew perfectly well.
People who are suffering from cancer may not be as analytical or as dispassionate as you clearly are when reading such statements. Noel Edmonds has said a prattish thing that the tabloids have lapped up. We know the tabloids couldn't give a toss, I thought Noel Edmonds was a bit better than that but maybe he isn't. As someone else said he should stick to what he's best at. I mean 'Scientific fact - disease is caused by negative energy',really?
Im not pointing the finger at the sufferers... Just the press for exponentially spreading his bizarre claim across an even wider audience while purporting to consider it heinous. Spread it wider at the same time as ridiculing it... Hmm. I am pointing out that by ignoring it entirely it would die of neglect in a day. I agree those suffering don't have he time to analyse, but they do have time to read the press and get more angry than hey need to off the back of the articles, fuelled by the bandwagon of incensed members of the public who love a crusade. Let it lie, as someone once said... (See OLM s sig for more)
It didn't actually need the papers to pick it up, it was all over social media, it's been the topic of much merriment and David Icke comparisons all day.
Being a positive person can make life better in general, illness or no illness. Most cancer patients i have ever met are positive in outlook...even some of my terminal friends who are no longer here The Chemo units i have had treatment in crazy at is seems are full of smiles laughter and banter and positivity Doubt if anyone i have met needs a gadget to feel positive Its the partners ..children...family of patients who have it harder then patients in most cases. Save your cash and spend it on a holiday if you can would be my advice
I don't do SM. Same ****. People jumping on bandwagons of disgust. It's funny, but the joke is on him. And the company must be over the moon with the exposure, and benefit of deniability...
I would go and try to find the previous winners, but the search function is ****ing knackered STILL. I remember 2014 **** of the Season was Sepp Blatter, he might've even retained.
For the record, Hat never won it. I nearly won the **** of the Season in '14 but came second behind Blatter.
Actually the vote was rigged as someone who is no longer on here made several accounts just to vote for me Sepp rightly won it by a landslide if I recall.
